That's hard to answer because both their packages had been developed around KERS from the get go, and they both wasted a ton of money and R&D time getting the crap to work during the off season. They obviously sacrificed many design elements to get the KERS to work and fit properly within the car, so it's a bit hard to say how well they would have done with a non-KERS designed car.

For Ferrari and Maclaren, both must have realized that taking the KERS out of their compromised chassis design would not have been worth it anyway....as they still had fundamental design issues which the KER's helped to cover up.

Especially when you consider that the 4 teams that used KERS throughout the year had a very underwhelming year. It's obvious KERS was a serious handicap for the teams this year.
 
It was a great race shame about Hamilton. If anything the next season should have more teams competing at the front. I'm sure Ferrari and McLaren will be challenging great season and Button is the worthy champion.

Abu Dhabi was a great venue hopefully others will up their game too. As stated before with cutting costs KERS was a bad idea and seems like a lot of money was sunk into it. Without many confirmed drivers there will be bits of news coming in to keep us going to until next seasons preperations start

Nobody is using KERS next year, even though it is legal by the official rulebook. I never really saw the advantage, except at circuits like Monza and Spa, which are high-speed circuits anyway and therefore benefited the faster Ferrari and Force India cars.
