I agree with yopu in most of what you say but you still say that it wouldnt be that hard to implement Day - Night cycles but it isnt that easy to do. I myself would love to see this added also but if PD does decide not to add the weather and lighting effects then I respect their decisions.

Another two things I would like to see are (1) Engine swaps (from the same manufacturer) and (2) conversion from FWD to RWD and Conversion from 2WD - 4WD.

I want to see engine swaps and fitting turbos to N/A cars, but, make it so it costs a lot of credits.

come on people, update does not mean cars, to me it mean physics update, and we got that, there are plenty cars in the game. any improvement on the phyiscs side is a big update, it doesn't have to be 1 gb update, it can be small but if it reflects cars physics then it's a big. PD should concentrate more of releasing the full game, then on updates for prologue.

I agree 100%. I see an update as some fixes added. I see addons as added stuff. so maybe PD should say that the next update and addons are at a certain date. If they say update then it would be aa patch for some fixes.

No , sorry , good thought though. I prefer superchargers over turbo's - no lag in engine rpm

yeah you can, there once was supercharged turbo on producton by a japanese manufacturer, cant remember if it was Daihatsu or Suzuki....

some modifiers also add superchrgers to their turboed machines.. ive got some pics if anyone is ever interested....
 
it was Nissan Micra/March Super Turbo from late 80's. Also, current Golf GT has twincharged engine.
 
The Big Fall Update that never was. C'mon Polyphony, please throw us a bone. I know you won't give us the Nurburgring, but perhaps you could at least give us another track. El Capitain would be awesome. So would Citta Di Aria (spelling?). I am eagerly anticipating the full GT5. By the time I'm done buying the full version (itself probably costing $59.99), I will have spent $40 on the japanese version, $40 on the Spec II US version, $120 on a brand new DFGT wheel, $399 on a 40GB PS3, and $550 on a new flatscreen TV. I'm too tired to add all that together, but I think I've made a fair contribution to the cause. I hope all of my expense and patience results in a truly special driving simulation experience. Thanks for your continued hard work PD. 👍
 
I think the speculation from having another update on the way is because PD in the new section have stated that "Spec III has begun" so when they say that it means there is more to come and that why I think so many people believe that its coming

Incidentally, it's still Autumn.
 
You also get twin scroll turbos on cars like the second edition new model Mini Cooper S. It really does seem to remove turbo lag, compared to other turbos I've driven. It lacks a little in the first split second compared to a good NA car though.

Indeed, updates hopefully will keep appearing every few months.
When you consider the support this game has on a worldwide scale it would be a very bad judgement if we didnt get at least something prior to the New Year.

If damage isn't ready then fine but something would be nice.
When are the online events due to change again?
 
I wouldn't mind if they even just added custom soundtracks like Motorstorm Pacific Rift features before the new year.
 
Polyphony, did state in the news section that Spec III update has begun, indicating there was more. It would probably help if they were a little more open and let us know their plans instead of this cryptic way of doing things. they know we are dying for the full game and all this teasing and cryptic messaging is doing a lot of peoples heads in.

Just need to know where we stand.
 
Reasons of big fall update release
-Spec 3 has begun...
-There are alot of sources about that big fall update on the websites
-Taku words and Kazunori interview with some website.IGN etc.
-PD prestige and some promises to do something BIG
-PD likes suprises that Kazu said.They will announce contents a few days before update crash
-As a Christmas present
-PS3 sales not good at the moment that update helps abit as a advertisement
-GT5 long way to go so they must support demo
-They want to do last BIG job in 2008
-PD must listen to Fans and loyalty!!

As a result.We want We gonna get it:)

No, they only meant that the update was available for download. It is only an unfortunate translation from japanese to english.

If you go to the japanese GT site news section and translate it through e.g. Babelfish, you get this:

'The [gurantsurisumo] 5 prologue started the free online update to of [gurantsurisumo] 5 prologue Spec III'.

Started could easily be translated as has begun. Spec III as it is now, is the big fall update. Only not as big as expected/hoped. :grumpy:

So, place your bets! Autumn, Winter, Spring, Summer or no more updates to Prologue? I'm going to go with a Winter update :) I think we might get a little something for Christmas, as before.
 
i think i gonna put my PS3 in a wintersleep, i will wake it up again when gt5 really comes out, or else it would be with a second PS3, cause my ps3 is acting very strange lately...
 
For a while I have been thinking we are not going to see a fall update but now I really do believe we will see some kind of update before Christmas. I seriously think that we are in for a big surprise. Now if it's in fall or not we will have to wait and see, but I am looking forward to some kind of an update sometime before Christmas. I really do think that it will be the last update as well and after this PD will be focusing completely on the full version of the game. That's just my opinion.

the reason why we are waithing for another update is because kaz him self said we would have 2 updates this fall
