Not with that engine. But, who's to say they won't screw around with the current engine?

Doesn't need the 2.3 to be a Mazdaspeed.

Honestly, I think it looks better, but either needs to chase the S2000 or go on a significant diet.

True, but this seems to state otherwise.Autoblog

Although it could just be a cover up......:sly:

i'd buy a miata coupe...

It's a pity they never produced the proper MX5 coupe in any great numbers and sold it overseas (they only made 350 or so for Japan) - modern day MGB GT.

I like the MX-5 as it was. I like the RX-8. No need to merge the two designs to make the new MX-5. This used to be a girly car to most people (probably still is today). This design is more manly and aggressive since about 2006. It's still one of the finest-handling cars as well as perhaps the best front/RWD roadster for its price. I'm not very fond of its design change, but I still think it's one of the best-handling cars and best performing cars no matter how it looks.

But I will admit something... this MX-5 is cute when it smiles! :)

Looks nice, but I can't say I'd drive it all day.

Actually I prefer the looks of the first generation Miatas. I really can't explain why.

Well it looks less like a chick's car...

I just wish they'd stop it with the "mouth guard" (if you've played most contact sports, you know what I'm talking about) grilles. The M3 has it, the CX7 and CX9 has it, the new RX8 has it... So far, the only "new" Mazda that has been spared has been the M6.

I can.

More elbow room. Leather and fabric where the new one only has plastic. A better gearchange. More organic steering, brakes and throttle. An infinitely more enthralling engine note. And a sweet chassis balance, with lower and more accessible limits than the current model.

To me, the whole car look a lot like the S2000. Not just the wheels. Very, very sweet looking car. 👍

I gotta say, as far as the "look" go, I like every generation of Miatas. Second one I think is the favorite, very clean & lean. Coupe looks sweet, but I'd love to see Mazda pull off a hatch, like the M-Coupe.

Haha no I meant the whole car, and I thought my post was going to be on page 2 thus saying "previous page" as in page 1! :D

I was tired, but this pretty much.
