Someone needs to mock up one for Schumacher?!

C.

If the wheels are for titles, it would need 7 discs. If it was for Monaco, only 5 :p Funny that with Schumi we can say only 5 wins at Monaco as if it is a common thing :sly:

That Trulli still exists, his record against his teammates at Monaco is quite amazing:
2009 - Trulli 19th, Glock 20th
2008 - Trulli 8th, Glock 11th
2007 - Trulli 14th, Ralf 20th
2006 - Trulli 6th, Ralf 10th
2005 - Trulli 5th, Ralf 18th
2004 - Trulli 1st, Alonso 4th
2003 - Trulli 4th, Alonso 8th
2002 - Trulli 7th, Button 8th
2001 - Trulli 8th, Frentzen 13th
2000 - Trulli 2nd, Frentzen 4th
1999 - Trulli 7th, Panis 17th
1998 - Trulli 10th, Panis 18th
1997 - Trulli 18th, Katayama 20th

13 out of 13 times he has beaten his teammate in qualifying here.

Wow it's amazing that he has beaten his team mate in the races held in these 13 consecutive years, his win at Monaco has still been going on as this shows :D

So Alonso gets the top time for practice uno. I thought my Red Bulls did a good job with that late charge.

Maybe I'm not so nervous right now for RBR. *Knocks on wood*

Well I've been trying to ask this question for like, since 2006. Why are they having their Practice Sessions on Thursday instead of Friday?

Anyway, it's going to be a good weekend I hope. Rain or no rain, Monaco always gives surprises... Let the game on!! Hope 2008 will come back again :D

So they can open the road up for the public to get on with their daily lives i guess.

Partly to open the roads to allow the public to use them again, also because the Monaco Grand Prix used to fall at a time of the year which was a national holiday (I don't know what it was though).
Its basically just tradition though, as far as I can find out anyway.

:dunce:

One of many reasons to look forward to a processional race around the principality?

Must say, those are nice pieces of kit.

Thanks for the answer mate :) I didn't knew that.. Kind of weird that others street circuit races still have the sessions on Friday except for Monaco and my first speculation was that maybe it was opened to public for some reason.

23. Karun Chandhok (IND/Hispania) - 1min20s313
24. Bruno Senna (BRA/Hispania) - 1min21s688

How can Bruno Senna be so slow! 1.3s down on his teammate. He disonors the name of his uncle. :grumpy:

Because he only completed 11 laps in FP2 to Chandhok's 35, and it rained for the second half of the session?

Roo

Correct Roo,Senna's car had technical problems and by the time they were solved,it whas too late to even go out and try to improve...

What is bizar about this situation,is that the car is slower than the fastest GP2 car of Maldonado who also had their practices today...It's just a great shame and i really feel for the drivers...i say they need some help from the topteams(wings...gearboxes...suspention parts..)to help them go atleast 1.5 to 2 seconds quicker....the topteams will also benefit from this because then they dont encounter them every 15 laps or so...

I still hope for a bizar wet/dry/wet race on sunday and see one of the new teams score points..:)

spy.

It's not so much bizarre, just ironic. What is ironic about it is the fact that Dallara actually designed and made these cars; the Hispania and the one make series that is GP2. :dopey:

Formula 2 cars and Formula 3000 cars regularly used to get close to the backmarker F1 times. Also, its just that Monaco puts less focus on the cars, so GP2 cars will be closer here than anywhere else.

Also lets consider that the GP2 cars are highly developed and the Hispania has been barely developed at all, has barely any F1 parts on it (still has things like steel suspension(!), no seamless shift gearbox, etc).

And this talk of "dishonors his uncle" requires soap in mouths. Ayrton never had to drive a car that was 5+ seconds off the pace. You may want to mention the Toleman, but that wasn't that bad really. Also consider that Chandhok has been getting all the upgrades first on his car...and certainly has some favours from Bernie and his dad who is in the FIA...
Bruno has it all against him, oh what might have happened if he had been picked and not Rubens last year for Brawn.

Besides, Bruno Senna is his own name, not Ayrtons. He dishonors no one, you cannot expect him to be Ayrton because he is not.

Yeah, I know how you feel about his lap time on Monaco, and I think he hasn't made an outstanding record in F1, well he debuted on F1 this year, I anticipate he'll do well from next year...

Why would HRT give Karun updates first? Bruno is clearly the faster driver, as he has outqualified him in all except 2 races this year, but because of some unfortunate events that weren't his fault, and a crash that was his fault, Karun is ahead of him in the championship.

Didn't you just answer this question yourself? Meaning if Karun is ahead of him in the championship, because he made less mistakes, who would you give updated parts to test out first?
I would do exactly the same when I was in charge at HRT.

This would be your answer.

As this team gains experience the times will come. But first testing is required, even if it is at the expense of one driver having to stick with the old. Comparisons must be made in order to improve, and no better way than to have the 2 different versions of the package on the track at the same moment in time.
He disonors the name of his uncle. :grumpy:
Knowing this now I think you may wish to retract this comment. 👍

Chandhok crashed in Bahrain, Bruno retired with an overheating engine. Bruno retired in Australia because of hydraulic problems, and crashed in Spain.

Doesn't look like it's his fault why Chnadhok is ahead of him, to me.

He is not his uncle true. But at this stage, he hasn't proved himself in F1, simply because he hasn't had the chance yet. It is natural that people will refer to his uncle, but it is not good that he is overshadowed by Ayrton's achievements.

It works against him either way, people will either give him special treatment because of the Senna name, or they will be overly critical of him for not being as good as some people expected him to be.

Give it a couple of seasons until he gets into the groove (Or a better car) and people will talk about him without mentioning how 'his uncle was so much better'.

Because it's Thursday Practice and all the cars never mind the teams are running different options and settings and as a result times in these two sessions are effectively meaningless.

Honestly, no, because it wasn't serious at all...

But as I wasn't aware of the circumstances in which his times were taken, I must apologise for my comment, even if it wasn't serious, it was unfair indeed.

Also, I'm not comparing Ayrton and Bruno, given that there were no F1 driver talented enough to match him since Prost was gone from F1 and Ayrton is the king of Monaco while Bruno is beggining his career, that would completely break the scales of unfairness.

Could be as simple as Chandhok bringing more money to the team.

^^ Yep, Bruno almost got a seat in Honda ( Brawn GP ) for the 2009 season, however Ross Brawn choose Barrichello instead of him, then all the hype for having the Senna name on the grid again just chilled out, and the biggest companies retired sponsorship proposals for Bruno. Chandhok must have bigger companies supporting him, as he is the first indian driver to seat in an F1.

No he's not...What about Karthikeyan?

Chandhok's dad is a member of the FIA. I think that pretty much answers the question.

Who?

I just googled the name, he drove for Jordan in 2005. Wow. I didn't know that.
Karthikeyan, the first black non-white driver in F1. He was in F1 before the whole fuss about Hamilton breaking up the white-man steroetype of F1.
