Vettel has made/or his team have made a very good decision. The big teams have messed up in quali... again
 
This is so crap. Rain in F1 makes it interesting, but not when it's like this. Can we shoot Bernie for organising Malaysian GP during monsoon season again?
 
I don't think it's crap, it's driveable so it's good. It would be pretty much status-quo, but the big teams are always so cocky and they mess things up.
 
That's how I like it. The qualifyings are often better than the races themselves ( though the last race was great ). I like the fact that Ferrari didn' make it in Q2 because it makes the ( early ) season a little more exciting.

My opinion : They should only do rain races. That should be a requirement for F1 races. The first race was so boring, rain is the salt in F1 if you ask me. Not as predictable as dry races.
 
This is the first time ever, that both Ferraris were knocked out in Q1 since this qualifying format existed.
 
Downpour now, red flag in the final session although no incidents yet. Large amounts of standing water on the track.
 
Proper exciting Quali - let's hope it doesn't turn into a Brazillian epic Quali though - could do with doing something today... they have a 3 hour window - so latest Q3 can restart is 7minutes and 17seconds before 12PM. (BST)

EDIT : 5 minute warning given - so they'll be back out again soon...

EDIT2 : Lining up in the pits again - 40 seconds left...

OH what a lap by Webber 2 seconds clear ,tommorow should be an interesting race

Bahrain has never produced good races, but people have seemingly forgot so this year.

Q2 & Q3 were very good. Race should be fun, Red Bull have to capitalise on the arrogance of McLaren and Ferrari.
 
Weather will be all important - can't wait to see the McLarens & Fezza's chewing up the field...

Great lap and Inters call from Webber - he does have a big pair of cojones!!

Will the RB's last the race though?

Excellent, a nice shake-up of the grid means we will see an interesting race tomorrow, because the McLaren's and Ferrari's will need to overtake people.
A good chance for Force India to capitalise and get some serious points, if Red Bull go out in the race again, Force India are looking to overtake them in the Constructors standings!
Kobayashi up there too, good decision making from Lotus and Virgin too, congragulations to them for making it to their first Q2 session.
Hulkenburg impressive, as was Petrov - have we finally got a batch of rookies who are actually good in F1?

I think its safe to say we will have a wet race tomorrow, can't wait!

Man, I really hope so! I love how the field is all shaken up like this. You cannot possibly tell the outcome now. Some teams are looking very good to capitalize on the Ferraris and Mclarens being whooped out of Q1.

Perfect race in my fantasy world? Total chaos with both Lotus and Virgin scoring one or more points. Go Rosberg, go!
 
I remember the days when Trulli was impassable to anyone else on the track. Hope he can atleast try to resurect that sort of skill in the race, could be funny :D
 
Wow, that was fantastic! If the race is gonna be just as good then I can't wait! So good to see Hulkenburg and Kobayashi in Q3! Gonna be epic!
 
Bernie's idea of putting sprinklers on tracks is actually quite good. I reckon they should have them compulsory in all the tracks designed by Herman Tilke and all the other circuits that have boring races :lol:
 
Yeah should be epic tomorrow but not if they have to stop the race. Wouldn't a 2.00PM local time be better for quali and race?

It went very close to being as bad as last year and yesterday they just missed the 4.00-5.00PM downpour as practice finished at 3.30PM. Not saying it would be guaranteed starting early but the race UK time would be 7.00am and EU 8.00 am.

I love the rain but don't want the race stopped, marshals at risk or borderline conditions where no racing is happening for the sake of the race starting 2 hours later. This would be great for the last 10-20 minutes of the race before it builds up to rivers.

Its an hour early this year and now I've posted it will be probably turn out perfect and the rain will be just right. Just hope there's no stop at 4.30 to 5.00 local time.
 
Great to see someone took a risk in Q3. I might have thought Force India would've done the same and split the difference.
Sure will be an interesting race, as long as it doesn't turn the track into a river like last year.

What the hell were Ferrari thinking...... Did they think the sun was gonna shine down on them...ah...the track I mean. Lets see if they, and the McLarens can not trip over the likes of Lotus's Kovalainen and Virgin's Glock as well as the 2 Torro Rosso entries, in the likely low visibility and slick conditions.

Should be an even better spectacle than last week. :D
 
I must say, Karun Chandhok is lovely. I have a soft spot for Hispania, they remind me of Minardi.
 
Just home from work. Wow, what a result to find! Should be interesting to see how ferrari and mclaren try and make their way back up through the field, this could be RBR's chance to make up big points if they can both finish that is!
 
Nice grid for tomorrow, hopefully we are in for an exciting race with some faster cars at the back of the grid. I have to admit I am a little concearned of a red flag tomorrow hopefully it won't be too bad. Looking forward to it 👍

Although on the BBC coverage Legard wasn't as bad as last season so far, I found him quite annoying today (Just a side note :lol:)

I don't get where people find Legard annoying, he's not brilliant, but at least its possible to ignore him....something that was impossible with James Allen.
Please do not bring him back, I will hate you all if you bring James Allen back.

If we're going to replace Legard, replace him with Ben Edwards or Martin Haven (some don't like him, but I don't mind). But honestly I don't have a problem with Legard, he's not brilliant, just average. I think people just like to nit-pick and complain, because he's worlds apart from being as unbearable as Mr Allen!

Besides, you have the choice to use BBC 5live commentary with Crofty and Ant if you really find him annoying.

Great session it was and congratulation to Mark, Nico, Sebastien, Heikki, and to all other drivers that I'm cheering out for but specially to Mark for his pole position. It was raining, heavily. Surprising to see both McLarens and Ferraris on the bottom of the grid.

Whatever it is, it's going to be a heck of a race tomorrow, wet or dry but likely to be wet, its all going to be a race not to forget :).
 
At least Martin Brundle can allow his own comments to come second place to the team radios, Johnathon Leggard talked over the top of 3 team correspondances, during qualifing yesterday. Surely he knows they are being broadcast and he can hold his comments. He does ramble on and is no different to Jame Allen, IMO.
 
Race about to start... am I the only person awake? (big words from someone who only lives one time zone away from Malaysia... :lol: )
