Check out the LIVE gallery. I think it looks a lot better under the lights.

I think this thing is pretty awesome, and something that'll still look pretty good with all the concept bits gone. Can it successfully replace the current car? So far, I think it looks the part.

What's up with those side mirrors? I'm taking a punt they're those camera ones. Everything looks OK except those headlights, looks a bug (if you know what I mean).


But I'd like my old model back compared to this.
 
Tail lights look sweet. The rest of the car looks like hell.
 
I'm even gonna say the taillights look ugly.

At least it doesn't resemble any of Toyota's US lineup, but I've definitely seen some cues in the Japanese lineup

I disagree. I think it makes it look like a Vauxhall Vectra.


It could have been worse I suppose. I don't know what possessed them to squish everyone else's design cues together like a mishmash of leftover soap, but it looks OK. I prefer the old one, admittedly, but who wouldn't?
 
This almost makes the Acura TL look normal.
 
The TL isn't a concept car though. I imagine this would be toned down quite a bit before hitting showrooms. It needs bigger mirrors I think too. It looks like an amputee with those wing cameras.

I also figured out why the rear end looks so familiar:

Now as I look at it more, the cabin shape has some Mazda 6 in it.
 
The front looks like a scared Pokemon, but the rest of the car isn't to bad. It's just a concept though so it will probably be different once the new version of the Legacy comes out.
 
I think it looks pretty cool. I'm not sure how much off roading you're going to do with such a low ride height and suspension travel, but whatever. I do like how thin the body looks in relation to the height of the greenhouse. You know what I mean--every other car looks about 2/3 body and 1/3 window, but this one looks about 50/50, which I like better. That's probably my least favorite thing about all new cars, that you can't see squat out of them. This one has big windows for good visibility in awkward conditions. It just gives me a really "Subaru" feeling. I'm not sure what I mean by that, but any of you who think this looks like a Subaru and not a Lexus probably know what I mean.

Now, give me a lifted wagon version with a locking rear diff and we're in business.
 
Its "progress" I suppose, but I'm not completely sure that I like it all that much. Give or take, I'm sure its a pretty decent car. But given how much I like the look of the current car (particularly pre-facelift), I'm a bit hesitant to jump full-on with this.

But hey, at least it doesn't look like a Toyota this time?

Likewise. The tails have that BMW-like design where it looks like a corner is missing when it continues to the trunk.

Paaaaaass.

Keep in mind though the Legacy is the on-road version, and the Outback is the off-road version.
 
Looks like the production version should debut in New York this year, according to the sources of Autoblog. It'll be exciting to see how it looks. I'm really hoping it'll be as cool as past Legacies have been. I'm looking forward to a wagon version too.

It was disappointing that I didn't get to see the concept in Chicago. That would have been really cool.
 
Wow, this thing is hideous. Subaru are ruining their lineup just as Honda/Acura has.
 
Acura has toasted their design department, BMW is goofing off, Lexus is biting it, Honda has bitten it, and we know what Toyota did long ago. Chrysler is going to die so they don't count, and Mercedes has bipolar stylists. I am sorry to say that I think Chevrolet wins in Styling recently.

How can Subaru possibly goof up the legacy? It was so gorgeous..
 
I'm looking forward to see what comes of it, but as of right now, the bread-and-butter sedan of choice (at least for me) must be the 2010 Ford Fusion. Not only is it beautiful, its a solid piece of work too.

I think Subaru is going to have a hard time improving on that car. The current generation is a really good looking car, and absolutely gorgeous in wagon trim.
 
Some renderings got out today, and it looks like this will be one of those cars you will have to learn to like (like the new Impreza), if anybody's going to like it.

Amen, now I really will have to try and find a used 08 GT when my lease is up.
 
The front looks like a G35. Which is a good thing, I actually like it. Not as much as the old one though.
 
Oh cheese and rice. I knew I shouldn't have come in here. Not content with murdering the Impreza, now they're butchering the Legacy. The Legacy is dead; long live the Legacy.

Looks like Japanese styling is taking another massive dump, for reasons known only to inscrutable Japanese car company executives.
