I sort of like its looks, but in my opinion it still has quite unfixable flaws of the whole 1-series family. That being the arched lower door - upper sideskirt line and oversized front lights. And it's not really a seperate model, probably just a 135i with a remap plus some other gadgets and a bumped price tag. By the way, does BMW still not offer LSDs to ther non-M models even as an option? 120hp E30s could be equipped with those.
All in all the 1-series seems to be an oddity here in Poland, I've seen maybe 5, not one coupe, since it is being produced. The streets are swarmed with E90s.

Actually even the M cars are dropping LSDs. They now use the brakes to controll the open diff.

The M cars still have proper LSD's... thought they are electronically controlled.

I remember when an LSD was an option on even a basic 318i, but you cannot order a LSD as an option for any non-M cars. There some companies that offer them aftermarket though.

Its nice to see BMW showing their cars in some actual colours instead of different shades of grey. I am assuming this car will have a 6-cylinder engine and since the stock 135i has 306 BHP I think the stock model is already grossly overpriced so this M version will likely give you less convenience and cost more. I think the stock 135i is around $65,000 CAN. I would rather buy so many other cars for that much money. BMW wouldn't even make the top 20 lol.

Stotty's post in page 3
The 1-series M coupé uses the same twin-turbo six-cylinder engine M54 engine, which is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox

So yes...

Actually, the car will be priced at around $59,153.11 CAD without options and the 135i at $42,800 CAD but I know, it's still expensive. Remember, this car will only be made to a limited amount of units as I recalled. If you like the car and you have the money, shouldn't be any problem at all...

This car isn't what the M1 should be. The true M1 has to be a supercar like the 1970s M1.

No no no and no this is not the M1. This is the M version of the 1 Series thus called the 1 Series M Coupe or 1M but not an M1. As you've already know the M1 is a Supercar and that name will be reserved only for use of the M1 E26/1 and its possible future successor...

So I'm guessing the person who made the thread has decided to get all lazy and not properly rename the thread? How in the world do you confuse the M1 with this? This is the M Coupe, not the M1 Supercar.

Looks like the 1M reviews are starting to come around. Sounds good, this far.

 The sound.. Oh, and nice power and torque too. Optimistic dyno perhaps?

Overpriced? Imo yes but only slightly.
Personally, I like this car and if they could sort out the price Id say its great. Kinda reminds me of the mugen rr in that respect.

:yuck:

Yet another disgusting design by BMW.
Where are the awesome lines of the E30, E24 etc etc.

That are proper Beamer lines.

Well, since the E24 is about the best looking car of all time, it's unfair to expect BMW to keep churning out designs that are as good... but that said.. the 1M is a great looking car. I have owned both aforementioned E30 and E24, and I still find this design great, and would not be ashamed to have a "BIMMER" like this parked outside.

I'm sure it has to be driver error in the form of the idiots. I've seen it driven without incident and from what I've seen, it doesn't even look that hard to drive fast. Of course, I said that about the GT-R too and I'm sure there's an accident somewhere with it as well

Having Money =|= Driving skills

Note to rich people, if you plan on purchasing a sports car, do so then give it to me so you won't wreck it. :p

*shrug* The 1M isn't as expensive as most other cars people keep an eye on around here, so it's to be expected to hear about more crashes. Less money required = more idiots driving it = more crashes.

Ooh! Pick me!

I chose this one just because I thought it was impressive how the driver lowered his visor before crashing.

Figures, not surprised.

If the last few years is any indication, Stupidity knows no Financial bounds.

Err, wouldn't quite say that. It's a relatively powerful, rear-drive vehicle with a relatively short wheelbase (think a less extreme Lancia Stratos), and most reviews I've read have said it's quite a handful, especially in the wet.

It's still likely driver error that caused the accident, but I suspect the 1-M's idiot tolerance level is a lot lower than a lot of other performance cars.
