Lol @ Denny being 40+ points behind already.
He's done. That team's nowhere near last season's form.

Given what I've seen today, I don't see how anyone will topple the 48 this season either, not that I like it one bit. 👎

Denny will be back next week at loudon, he might be one to watch as he has fought through thick and thin this year with being 28th in the points with no win this year. Last year he battled through knee surgery during the spring phoenix race to come back and win aat martinsville. He's got the fastest pit crew in the field by holding the pit crew challenge title for 2yrs running. Just watch the 11

There's still 'Dega
Granted but it's better to not use up a mulligan before getting there.

True but even then, the 11 has only had 4 top fives the whole season. He'll need to have top 5's from now on just to catch up.
My money is on the Dodge's next weekend, or the Stewart owned cars.
I'll go with Gibbs or Stewart. I'm getting a feeling Kurt and Brad will get involved in incidents. Just a feeling.

On a side note, who made the decision to push Kenseth to the finish? From my perspective, that was not a smart move.

I'm guessing JJ decided to help out another Ford team, and either forgot or didn't know he couldn't help on the last lap.

I like where Turbo is going with the Dodge's or SHR. Kurt always runs well there, and in the spring Brad ran 5 or 6th until he blew a tire.

If Jimmie escapes trouble there like he always does in the chase, he'll win the championship again. That seems to be the one omen as to if he'll win it again.

I honestly think you guys are giving him too much credit this year. There are a few teams that look like they'll give him a run for his money, including Harvick.

I hope Jeff and kyle will come back it will be tough but they have the talent to do it they just need some good luck

Oh no doubt we've got more then two drivers who can take down Jimmie. You have to admit though, Jimmie surviving the Fall Talladega race and ironically winning the championship the last few years is (to me anyway) a alarming pattern. I'm not giving it to him yet, but ultimately that race in my opinion is the one that usually sets the stage for the final stretch.

I honestly think you haven't seen how incredibly lucky the 48 gets during the Chase and/or how the other teams find a way to choke. It's pretty much a case of myself choosing Johnson over the field until someone proves otherwise, much to my chagrin. :grumpy:

Not sure how anyone can say Denny is done after one race I mean he's a bit back but he isn't out of it. I mean people before today were saying Stewart and Earnhardt Jr. weren't going to get very far...todays race proved otherwise and where was Kyle and Gordon. The chase really shows anything can and will happen. I'm glad my favorite and follow up driver finished in the top three. Not so happy to see Harvick there...no offense to the fans.

I agree everyone still has a shot. I think we will know who is a serious contender after talladega

Yeah, looks like another fuel mileage race.

Hmmm, two Hendrick cars with flat tires in the last two runs.

Stewart is peaking at the right time. Great run by Brad too although I think he'll run out of luck about halfway through the Chase. Hamlin, as I thought, is pretty much done.

I still stand with my 48 pick as a precaution.

HMS set up both cars with high camber...so that screwed up at least one really good car and one alright car. Martin and Gordon didn't have the same issue since they obviously were set up different in their shop.

Actually it was Martin and Jr that had tire issues. Two different shops.

You're right I went back and looked, JJ had issues though with a tire going down, just didn't lose it like Jr and Martin. However, the Camber on those cars was quite aggressive.

Yeah it was, but Jr could really cut down from the center off. So I'm sure it helped in that respect.

Oh I agree, I thought about it alot after the race since he's the driver of choice for me. However, I think slightly backing it down would have done just fine, but you cant defeat lady luck some days.

Spectator: Clint is about to win the race!!

Chuck: Nope, its Chuck Testa.

Gee, didn't I predict an SHR or a Dodge to win the race? :sly:

Edit: and 👍 to Regan Smith and a much deserved top-10.

So SHR or BK...

I was thinking, could Penske possibly go to Chevrolet within the next few years? Seeing as they're switching to Chevy in IRL for 2012, and they'll be Chevy's top team over there...
