She finished in the 20's last weekend and they still felt the need to talk to her. Kind of sad really when there are a lot more drives out there that deserve the attention over her. If she get's a top 10, sure talk to her...

Surprisingly, she didn't get nearly as much air time as much as the road Racers did. ESPN must've finally learned about those other 36-42 drivers :lol:

Apparently, Kasey Designed this himself. I'm likely the only one that thinks this, but I love it. Its far more better then this year's car.
 
Hmm, another race that was so Gordons if he hadn't lost so much time on that last stop. :(

And what's with Brad speeding on pit road and getting away with it?

Yeah I agree with what he said. I mean, it shouldn't matter if you cross the line at the right speed. If you are visually speeding, you should get nabbed for that too.

I'm not sure how something like that can be enforced. I don't think NASCAR wants to to make a judgment call like that so that's why they split pit road into separate segments and penalize them that way. It just so happens that by selecting a good pit stall, one can go over the pit road speed limit for a short amount of time but not be over the limit for the entire segment, avoiding the penalty.

To me, what Matt and Brad did was simply exploit a loophole in the rules. Is it fair? No, but it's good thinking by them and their respective teams.
 
I really enjoy the racing at "new" Bristol (although of course the surface isn't so new anymore). All of the side-by-side racing tonight was very entertaining.

While I love seeing a driver get on a hot streak like Brad's, I think opinions like Joe Menzer's are seriously misguided. It's absurd to call Keselowski the fourth-most-likely driver to win the championship based on a stretch of a few races. More generally, he's giving far too much weight to recent performance; Edwards, Gordon, and Kenseth are far more viable as title contenders than Keselowski is, no matter how convenient the artificial narrative that can be constructed.

Biffle, Bowyer, and Stewart were shockingly bad tonight, and Harvick wasn't exactly impressive, either. If Stewart has another bad race and Keselowski sneaks by him into the top ten after Richmond, the second wild card could be... Paul Menard? Or even Ragan or Ambrose depending on how they do in the next couple of weeks.
 
Would also like to add that the Furniture Row team was running in the top-10 for most of the race until hey fell back and finished in their normal high-teens. Good to see them running as high as 5th and in the top-10 for a while. 👍

I find it funny how just a couple pages back in this thread everybody was saying Dodge should just give up and pull out of Nascar.

Since then Penske has been on a roll. First the #22, now the #2.

It was a good race although I was fighting to stay awake at the end.
 
Here's something I discovered:

Austin Dillon will be driving a Ronald Reagan Centennial themed #98 Chevy, supposedly at Kansas in October.

I have two Questions, why and how? To be more specific:

1. Why is Austin Dillon getting a Cup ride when he hasn't even done enough racing in Nationwide?

2. How is Richard going field a fifth car when there is a current car limit of only four per team?

He has been good in the Trucks though, it wouldn't be the first time a driver went from Trucks>Cup, that's how Carl did it in fact.

They are allowed a 5th entry for a rookie for up to 7-8(can't remember which) races. I know Hendrick ran the #25 for Keselowski during '09, can't think of any other instances where it's been used.

I could be wrong, but wasn't 09 before that rule was enforced? I recall Mcmurrey being the odd man out at Roush because of it.

It went into effect in 2006, any teams that had more than 4 at the time had until the end of '09 to get to 4.
 
Every team does this, I can't believe all the complaining. It happens at every track, it just seemed exaggerated due to the short pit lane. I think it could use more sections at Bristol though.
 
I hope Bowyer goes to RPM. I like that team and I think he'd do well there.
 
Rumor has it the KHI may be no more next season. Mike Dillon and someone else were spotted at the shop taking notes of the inventory.

Maybe RCR might buy up KHI completely?

At least in the truck series, but yes it is strange. Maybe they could be taking a year off to retool for the cup series?

I'm not so sure about that, Harvick has never really seemed interested in bringing his team to cup. When I actually take a look at everything thats taking place at the beginning of the year and now this recent news, I'm beginning to think slowly but surely KHI is about to be absorbed by RCR. There was already the fact that basically all KHI equipment switched over to ECR engines this year after running engines from Pro Motors for a few years.

Some more notes:

- Fastenal to sponsor Carl Edwards in Cup in 2012

- NASCAR to have its first ever Native American team Owner as Bob Germain will team up with longtime friend and businessman O.B. Osceola, Jr to form Germain Osceola Racing.

- ISC has aquired more land to improve traffic and extend parking for kentucky Speedway, plans include a pedestrian tunnel.


I don't know about you guys, but theirs something kinda cool about seeing a Native American now being a Team Owner (even if it is partially) as outside of sponsorship, they hardly have a presence in racing to begin with.

I still hope Bowyer goes to RPM. The potential for that team is there. I think if Bowyer were to move over there he could help AJ and Marcos a little bit, so they'd be able help grow the team more themselves.

Thats what I heard as well. It unfortunately will come at the cost of Randy Moss Motorsports possibly going away and Travis Kvapil not having having a Ride in Trucks in 2012, Unless he's offered a seat. At least it'll give them sponsorship security, something they've struggled with the past few years even as a Championship winning team. As for the NNS deal, my one question is does this basically rule Todd Bodine as officially out of the Trucks (at least full time) for 2012?

Thats basically what I see here. Infact, the combining of resources I think goes back abit further with RCR retiring the 21 team last year after Texas (long after retiring the 29 team the year before). I think that is what began the whole process, Richard saw Kevin's team doing far better then his own team in Nationwide and beginning with the engine deal, he is slowly building a step latter using Harvick's team in both the Trucks and Nationwide for both his grandsons and eventually, maybe Coulter if he ever gets towards the performance level of Austin Dillon. It gives RCR two more trucks and two cars (well 3 if you want to count the 4) in Nationwide and another car for ARCA alongside the other 2.
 
All I know is... those trying to make the Chase better make the most of this weekend and next to avoid having to settle for next season. So best wishes to all competitors and teams this weekend with the 2011 Chase for the Cup looming.

Also the #8 truck of Piquet. I wouldn't be surprised to see Ty in the trucks next year or Austin with a full NNS schedule.

I keep forgetting about that truck, I've grown so used to the 2 and the 33 so the 8 really stands out.
