Amazing how big of a deal the media is making of the drivers not going to the White House.

With the exception of Kyle Busch(who is attending this year) and Harvick(who went in '09 but missed the 2009 chase) went in 2010.

Amazing how much they love to write negative things about NASCAR.

- UPS plans to cut back dramatically on its support of Roush Fenway Racing's #6 Ford driven by David Ragan in 2012, SportsBusiness Daily reported. Sources familiar with the company's plan said it will drop its full-season primary sponsorship of the #6 car and sponsor 4-8 races at RFR in '12.

- Jeffrey Earnhardt to run in Grand Am Series: The Earnhardt family has accomplished nearly every goal set in racing. Jeffrey Earnhardt will now set his goal on a family first&&winning the championship in the NASCAR owned Grand Am Series

- Rockingham Speedway will host a NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, tentatively scheduled for the second weekend of April 2012, sources have told ESPN The Magazine. The event will mark the track's first NASCAR event since the then-Winston Cup Series held its 78th and final race at "The Rock" on Feb. 22, 2004.

Just so everyone knows.. the race start has been moved up from actual start time of 7:50 PM EDT to 7:30 PM EDT hard start time. With Tropical Storm Lee coming its way, its going to get interesting.

Ok so they are trying to get the show in... tonight.... oh boy. --- Randy

Postponed until Tuesday at 11AM.

I'll be at school, then work from 4PM to midnight.

:(

Is there a reason they can't do it tomorrow?

This week is going to be hell on teams with Atlanta on Tuesday and Richmond on Saturday.

3-5in of rain tomorrow due to a tropical storm.

At least both tracks are close to most shops.

I got home in time to see the last 20 laps. Great race and congrats to Gordon. Stewart got third. I like it!

24 for life, 85th for the win.

Oh yeah.

Also nice job to Johnson and Stewart.

The last 10 laps were a prime example on why Atlanta is by far my favorite track.

And Hendrick cars finish 1-2 with Jeff Gordon getting his 85th win. Couldn't have been better.

I'm proud of my boy Jeff Gordon. He's an eventual Hall of Fame material regardless. I only saw some of the first few laps of this event. Jeff Gordon has had a reversal of fortune compared to last season. Last season, the #24 couldn't buy a win (or did he win one last year?). Now, he's got three wins. Tied with a bunch of current Chase drivers with three wins.

Bring on Richmond! Almost anything can (and will) happen at Richmond. Time to see who will have their chance at winning the 2011 Sprint Cup.

I couldn't believe how sideways Johnson was throughout turns 3 and 4 on the last lap. I guess he really did wear the rear tires off the car as he said.

Congratulations to Gordon. Then again, since some people think that Bobby Allison really should be credited with 85 or even 86 wins, it would be nice to see Gordon win two more and make his third-place standing on the wins list completely undisputed.

Cograts to Gordon on his 85th win, the last 10 were incredible to watch.

And what a run for Stewart in the last handfull of laps to grab 3rd, he really needed that kind of result to keep himself from falling out of the chase.

Yeah him and Jr. will both need a good result next week to not fall out. Brad is doing a great job at the end. I guess Jr. got lucky with Kyle finishing where he did and not gaining any more points making Jr. slip back any further.

I really like what M&M's and Gibbs are doing with the 18 car this weekend.

Which is basically the same scheme that was on the M&M's car at Dover after the attacks in '01.

RCR and KHI announced a merger between their NWS teams. Sadler still in the #2, the cup drivers will share the #33.

Called it, knew there was something suspicous about two key people taking notes of the inventory. That and the fact that mostly RCR drivers drove the 33 (minus the road courses and that one guy).

I was looking over the standings again today, and I did a double-take when I saw that Allmendinger is now 13th. He's had an extraordinarily quiet season; it looks like he's finished between 10th and 20th quite a bit, which is good for points but bad for being on the radar. Along with essentially every other driver through 23rd in points, it's theoretically possible that he could even make the Chase if he won tomorrow. Much more likely, though, the race will be won by someone already in the Chase, and Keselowski and Hamlin will remain the two wild cards.

The most likely(and really the only) scenario for Allmendinger making the chase would be if he won(Which is possible as he's starting 9th) and Hamlin had a bad race(starts 28th and hasn't been very fast all weekend). That would easily cover the 11 point gap between him and Hamlin and move him into position for the 2nd wild card slot.

Well, the race to the Chase should be exciting all the way to the last lap.

^^Agreed. Wonder how many green flag laps they can string together at once?...

And with no real shot for anyone in the back to catch the leaders because their too busy creating cautions, I'm afraid it will be another Johnson show with special guest Kevin Harvick this week. Vickers is an idiot.
