Ignoring the colour, I still don't like it, I don't like Skoda design at all really, which is a shame. As it will undercut the Scirocco by £3k and have the same engine line up, the model pictured is the VRS predicted to have the 2.0 210bhp engine coming in 2012, other models out this year.
But I am expecting a 1.6 turbo petrol to come from VAG so if thats' ready by next year it could be a 210bhp 1.6.

Its probably just another Auto Express mock up which in the end will look nothing like the real thing. I kinda wish they would stop doing these unofficial artists impressions and passing them off as the real deal.

Robin.

When you buy a suit from George (Asda/Walmart) is has the good sense to have the brand label on the inside where no one can see it so it just looks like a smart suit. No one need know it only cost you £40.

When you buy an impractical coupé car that's meant to be stylish and cool, putting a Skoda badge on the front would somewhat seem to defeat the purpose.

I was wondering where I've seen, oh...everything above the front license plate before, and then it hit me: Chrysler.

It's...not bad. I've seen worse. But those taillights are terrible.

The shape of the front headlights reminds of the facelifted C-Class, I don't like the tail lights and the grille... Just a rendering.

Quite like the render, though as others have pointed out it's unlikely to look like that when it arrives.

The rear screams Saab to me, for some reason. I suspect one of Saab's old concepts looked similar.

Looks better than the Scirocco. I think Skoda's recent designs are among the most elegant and best looking from any car company. If they were sold in the States I'd consider getting one, especially the Yeti.

you could swap that skoda grill for a merc grill and nobody would have ever known the difference.
I believe those headlights are PS'd from a Mercedes by the artist.

I believe those headlights are PS'd from a Mercedes by the artist. If not, they look nearly identical in shape and composition.

If you don't know what it is, you're not old enough. >XD

Dang...if WRC regs hadn't changed, this'd make a neat entry.

Still won't rival the Skoda Yeti. Hopefully it isn't as ugly as it's depicted in this picture as i am very fond of Skodas.

It looks like a Volvo C30 with a Lincoln grille. I mean, not that it is a terrible idea, Skoda really is a fantastic arm in the VW group. Like others have said, if they sold them in the United States, I'd probably buy one. Well, after a Yeti.

To like Skoda's you have to be care free about interiors, they are very cheap and nasty looking. You are constantly reminded you are in a car of lesser material worth and lacklustre design. The leap in quality is very big through the VAG ranges, Skoda worst, Seat considerably better, VW way better, Audi a different league.
You pay your money for what you get design/material quality wise.

My guess is that it can't be too much worse than the dumbed-down VW interiors that we're getting now.

VW and SKoda interiors are completely different in quality. I sat in and drove all the respective models Fabia/Ibiza/Polo a few months ago. Skoda interior feels like they forgot to finish it.

I prefer the front end to the VW Scirocco... but the rear looks unfinished.

I actually think its a pretty good looking car, not as nice as the Scirocco, but not bad.

👍:):)

The rear end looks like it was designed for a japanese car maker, which is good.

But I'd still have the Scirocco, looks better and VW design identity is cleaner although a little bit dreary.
