Because he won the race? Didn't put a foot wrong, kept out of trouble, did I mention he WON THE RACE.

I'll be sure to bring that up the next time Sebastian wins from pole.

How so? Let's face it, he started from pole and never had any competition. Whenever Sebastian does the same, no one hails him as driver of the day.

But you could say the only reason Vettel managed to gain 8 places on his qualifying position is because FOUR of the drivers infront of him were all out of the race at the first corner.

Oh joy, the awkward podium interviews :banghead:

Hulkenburg is my driver of the day.

Loser is Kovalienen, two spins and a poor pit stop.

I'd actually put Hulkenburg as driver of the day. Putting a Force India in 4th place is a hell of a feat. Then Vettel for his damn fine drive through the field, then Button for his lights-to-flag domination of the race that he hasn't had the best of luck at.

He still performed several legitimate overtakes. Something that some say he can't do. It's fine if you feel that way, but we'll see the reaction on the forum when someone they like less does the same thing.

Red Bull are so screwed at Monza. They were completely defenceless in the DRS zone, as usual they have no straight line speed.

Great drive from Jenson. Start to finish. Awesome job by Sebastian! He really fought for that one. Crazy start too. It's kinda funny that Maldonado accidentally had probably the best start I've ever seen.

Driver of the day: Sebastian Vettel!!!!

I'm still pissed at Grojean for totally screwing the entire race up. This idiot need a 10 spot grid penalty next race.

So there's more cars in front of him that he can plough through?

Yeah I agree he drove very well, the overtake on Webber was awesome, and he had pace and consistency. But if you take out the first lap incident then he only gained 3 places.
Which in my books isn't a drive worthy of stealing drive of the day from Button.

Not a Vettel fan, not even slightly.. but DOTD i think.

Well he drove a good race and I have never seen him do so many nice passes in one race. OTOH there were five people ahead of him wiped out by Grosjean. He certainly wouldn't have been on the podium without the start-crash and I think there's only one person who would have named him driver of the day if he had finished in sixth or something like that.

Vettel started 10th. He was 12th after the first corner, but he lost positions to cars that isn't as fast as Ferrari/Lotus/McLaren. Instead of having to overtake Ferrari/Lotus/McLaren, he had to overtake Toro Rosso (team orders...), Force India and Mercedes.

However, one thing I don't understand. Why do strategies to recover positions for Vettel always work, but never for Webber?

Also, OMG; The podium interview! Burn it with fire!

Hamilton could've backed off, but Grosjean HAVE to learn eventually. You have to leave space because there is a possibility that a car can be there.

Imo, give him a one race ban. They need to do something drastic so they ****ing learn. People could've have seriously been killed in that accident.

By the same logic, Button's competition was either taken out, lost places at the start and/or got stuck behind slower cars, allowing Button to build up a gap. This was probably the easiest win of Jenson's career. And had a certain German been in that position, no one would be calling him driver of the day.

Maybe because of the driving style or pressure control or even both.

But with the pace Jenson has showed the past 2 days relative to the drivers that were taken out implies he still would have taken the chequered flag. I can't say that for certain but it's still an extremely likely outcome.

Yeah, i hear what you're saying, but it's a case of if's and but's, had nothing happened at the start, things could have been different... we simply don't know.
