The front left wheel was turning left when he was going right, he did nothing wrong.

Was it? I was watching the steering wheel and though he was trying to ride the understeer.

I think they are tethered at two points of suspension, if that exits stage left, the wheel goes with it.

The brakes are tethered to the suspension not the wheel or pitstops would take an age.
