Would be better for Lotus if they actually had some semblance of thier end of race pace at the start and in qualifying. Their great pace seems to come in way too late to be in good position for victories.

Immense race from Grosjean after that forced early stop; he practically did a one stopper to work his way up from the back to 6th.

Good job Webber as well. But can't say I like this new podium ceremony/press conference though.
 
I felt it was a great deal from Grosjean... But wasn't very sure, and I could appear biased, so I didn't say aything. But I guess I was right. He did make yet another good race.

Looks like Ferrari is on the ball now - pace in the rain and in the dry. If they could just fix their strategy, they might just well be untouchable for the next few races.

I'm tyred of Domenicali and his crappy "strategy", seriously, we had this one.
 
To be fair, the strategy should have worked... Emphasis on should... It was only sixteen laps on the softs... Logically, Alonso would have had the pace on Mark until just the last three or four laps... but instead, Mark was on his butt with ten laps to go, forcing Alonso to push harder than he should have. Perhaps there was an off for Alonso we didn't see or a lairy moment of wheelspin or locked brakes... his front left looked like hamburger by the end.

Driver of the day has to be Webber, though it's rather close, because a lot of drivers had a good day today. Alonso, disappointed, but a solid drive. Vettel did a good job making up places, and Massa is back on form. Schumacher looks like he had a wet setup on the car, because he just fell like a rock. Both McLarens miles off the pace, they didn't make the Hard Hard, Soft strategy work as well as Alonso, and even he suffered. Even down to Senna made up a few places, ending up 9th. Good racecraft from most drivers today, few incidents.

Rather amusing when Perez called Badgift a stupid driver. To be fair, Pastor seemed to just have lost the car, and countersteered into Perez. He was off the optimal racing line, and so would have lacked the grip compared to Sergio.

Damn. No press con. The podium interview WAS the press con. Should have been a bit longer.
 
Seeing replay of incident.... Definitely Pastor pushing too hard, carrying way too much speed... But really... Sergio... you're overtaking Maldonado... You don't want to be that close... You want to be several corners away...

You don't lift. If you're sideways and you lift, you go even more sideways. Once he lost the car, he was always going to go off on the outside. The question was whether he would go off sideways or backwards.

The issue was, he shouldn't have dived so deep and braked so late on the inside of the turn... Especially not while beside another car...
 
I think some are being too hard on Maldonado, right after the incident the commentators said it looked as though he lost the back end on entry and counter steered to save the car. So his car ran wide into Perez. And when they interviewed him after the race he said exactly the same thing.
And if you watch the replay back, its there to see.

Grosjean's last stint was 2 laps longer, and it goes without saying that he was much faster on it. To the the tune of over 20 seconds faster, passing Hamilton along the way.

The last three races, Grosjean has been absolutely incredible, and in contention for drive of the day on all three occasions. It's only a matter of time until RoGro wins a race.
 
The Lotus has shown itself to be good on tires for the last few races, and the McLaren has shown itself to be the exact opposite. The big thing here is how large the difference is on cars that haven't been completely dialed in (due to the lack of dry practice this weekend).

Romain is a good bet for a future win... But the interesting thing is how high up the rankings the Iceman is without one...
 
Superb race, amazing last stint from Webber, as for Maldonado, today wasn't a case of being an idiot, he was just unlucky to get oversteer when Perez was outside of him, very hard to prevent that, while against Hamilton he probably should have backed out as he didn't have the run on Hamilton at the time. He's clearly a fast driver, but he takes a bit too much risks and doesn't seem to get the luck that Kobayashi does when overtaking, and hitting Perez and Hamilton, the incidents which looked to be on purpose, is just un-acceptable. Really he needs to just get some consistant finishes, maybe not take a risk and go for it, and he needs to control his temper, if he can do that, he had a chance of making a top-end team in the future, if not, he'd be lucky to get a drive.
 
First I'd like to say "Chapeau Ă  Grosjean!" for an amazing race. He almost pulled a Button.

It was a good race actually, pretty dramatic towards the end. The Red Bull cars are really strong here and still the car to beat. Disappointed about Perez though, I really hoped he could do something because his pace was great until that incident with Maldonado. A shame but that's racing.
 
Great race today. Glad that my face got a double podium. Can't wait for Germany! The podium celebration and interview was interesting. I liked the interviews on the podium.

It was a good race, not brilliant mind, but its was still good..congrats to webber, alonso and vettel! pastor strikes again!!

I didn't see that but they did the same thing with the F1 drivers, I think its part of the whole new podium procedure and I think interviewing on it sucks.... keep the questions to the press conference.
