Rolls Royce is the absolute pinnacle of luxury. I prefer the Ghost because it is more of an actual driver's car than the Phantom or similar. It's quite a shame to think that usually those who buy these cars never actually drive them - they usually pay for someone to drive for them. 👎

But still, luxury at that level is a bit sad in my opinion.

That is like the whole point tho. You have so much money that BMW and Mercedes which are great all around cars are garbage to you. Rolls Royce have better back seats than they do front because they know the people who buy them are too busy making deals and being rich to actually drive them. I like this special China one tho with all the dragon stuff built in. Having a Rolls Royce is badass enough, but to have a even more rare exclusive Rolls Royce is like the greatest achievement possible.

Every company in this world wants to make cash. Otherwise, how would they live? Much like Lotus. They couldn't make money by simply selling small and light sports car. Now, they're stepping up their game to make money otherwise it would be a matter of time for them to fall...

nothing wrong with making money, thing is everyone's attempt to please the chinese is so primitive.

"we gonna enter the chinese market, what will please them?"
"we don't actually know about the chinese except some stereotypes...so lets add dragon!".

Seeing automotive classics devaluing their own taste to shoehorn in some local preferences makes me sad.

And I am chinese.

Don't you know that China is one of the biggest market in the world? Everybody is going there... There are a lot of rich people there who will buy anything. To some manufacturers, this is an oppoturnity to promote their product eventhough almost 10 or more typical RR being sold a day.

I don't think Rolls Royce is duluting their image. See, if you're about to buy a car. Let's say a RR Ghost in China. Others have the exact same Ghost but you want something other than that. That's why RR brought something different into the market, a limited or special edition so people will have more choice than the typical Ghost. It will sell, like hotcakes. I see no dilution to be honest... People want more special variant not one similar to others.

Reading the title I thought it was a knock off from the real Rolls, the Rolls Rocyce

Edit: nevermind, I see you've changed the title.

no, but it is useless to explain the difference between value adding and devaluing when people think that is tasteful. :p

no complaining about the rationale but the execution.

Devaluing or not (which to me, there's nothing devaluing with it), it will not stop people from buying it. Taste is different between people, so you got to respect that. Thanks for your time...

I never changed the title you must of just read it wrong originally lol.

China has the most billionaires in the world there and I think biggest population too. It's just like how Japan has tons of cars that are only sold in Japan, China is now having the same thing happen only the cars are super expensive instead of everyday.

This dragon edition is supposed to stabilize the year of the dragon which I'm guessing is 2012. They have obviously researched like crazy what Chinese people like to see more of in there cars and what they can do to stand out from the crowd.
