A buddy of mine works at a performance shop in AZ and they just did some basline pulls on an '13 GT500. 623 \ 635 at the wheels. Sounds like itd be a beast to me.

Thoughts?

Not surprised that it is more than advertised, quite a few manufacturers under-rate engines.

However 600+ AT THE WHEELS is just mad stuff. I know it's a 5.8 with a big blower but still, I'd assume Ford would do a conservative tune.

I heard dynos were actually showing 662 at the crank so yeah I agree that it pretty intense stuff. 450hp is plenty enough for me.

Conservative tune? The V6 is the conservative tune.

I'd say it would be right on actually. They put down about 280 to the wheels last I knew. Rated at 305 crank.

Wow, isnt that like 700 crank HP?

700 crank horsepower was putting 609 down at the wheels according to a few videos on YouTube. So I guess it's actually a little over.

Ford ususally have a conservative tune for the ECU, they usually let the aftermarket some allowance to milk more power out of it.
Nothing to do with the V6.

Dear damn 635 at the wheels for a stock car is insane. Was it really stock?

Yep bone stock. Ill see If I can get a copy of the graph emailed to me and Ill post it. He hasn't said what they are doing to it, but they have some kickass cars that come outta that shop, mostly import, but all forced induction.

Yea I would think the car makes over 700 hp/tq at the crank in stock trim....

That's absolutely insane. It is indeed commmon, specially in this type of cars, to downrate power numbers, but having a whp measurement this high is almost sandbaggin', lol.

When we tested the GT500 over here in the magazine we didn't saw such high numbers, albet we're more than 2.5 kilometers above sea level and the gasoline over here is basicaly dog water, but it was one of the most powerful cars we've ever strapped on the dyno, if I remember correctly, it was well over 500, which is supersonic over here.

Wonder if GM can pull it off with a LS in, maybe, the next hot Vette.

I'm sure they car :) My cousin does some testing in conjuntion with GM on the Camaro projects and I have a buddy that does some testing for them as well out at Bounderant. He says they have some pretty slick stuff in the works!

Makes me feel like I should run and hide with my 425hp!

I know right. 400hp is the new 280, like everything was 10 years ago. Pretty soon I will just start getting made fun of at the track.
