Nice win by Kenseth, that was one great battle for the lead. Never knew if Matt would hold it or if Kahne would slip by.

That's the most excited I've heard from Matt Kenseth.

I know, right? That was also the most panic I've heard from him in...forever

Nope, you caught all the good bits.👍

Edit: Wait, you missed Danica admitting she is terrible.

 Didn't miss much then. Looks like Kasey was smoking along much of the day and Matt took it away? Thought JJ or Brad would pull it off.

I wasn't able to watch the race today. Can someone fill me in on what happened to Gordon and why he was a lap down?

Supposedly his car was terrible. It would get worse every lap.

After seeing today's race, I think we have a pretty decent car here.

The problem is Goodyear and their pathetic excuse of a tire they bring to these tracks. I was lenient on them last week because of Phoenix's new surface, but this was Vegas. The track is weathered now. There's NO excuse for bringing that hard of a tire to a track like this.

They're becoming more of a bad joke than anything.

At least the teams taking less tires don't have to waste as much money on tires.

I don't see how strategy options are a bad thing for racing.....

Somewhere in that garage area Tony's smiling...

I'm fairly sure Tony doesn't care that Matt won, considering he's thrown a helmet at him within the past year.

Oh look, they're going back there next week.

It's not really a strategy option because there's not much logic in taking four tires at this point. They're essentially worthless.

They actually used to allow soft vs hard compounds ala F1 back in the 70s and 80s (If I remember right a Daytona 500 came down to Junior Johnson's car on softs vs the Petty car on hards)

Of course he did, that's his old car and their good friends aswell!

Congratulations to the birthday boy (Matt Kenseth) on a job well done. It's ALWAYS cool if you can win on a special day like a birthday. The sun surely shone on Kenseth on that beautiful mostly sunny day in Las Vegas. I was sad for the performances of Jeff Gordon and Danica Patrick.

These Gen-6 cars are pretty and all, but it's time to give these cars a little character. Darlington is later this season, but I'm talking about Bristol. We'll learn a little more about the Gen-6 Cup car once Bristol plays around with the 43 drivers who'll race its high banks. We've seen superspeedways, we've seen mile-long tracks, and we've seen a 1.5-mile track. Now- it's a short track test as Vegas is in the rear view mirror.

Bring on Bristol!

As darrel waltrip said give the Gen-6 car more time!

Darrell Waltrip has lost his 🤬 mind in recent years. He's now nothing more than a spokesperson puppet for NASCAR, same as Michael. :yuck: Goodyear still sucks when it comes to race tires, we really need Pirelli or Michelin to jump onboard.

NASCAR should have another tire war. Michelin vs Hoosier vs Goodyear would solve the main problem with Goodyear (them being lazy) and make the cars seem more different to each other.

On the race today- What is with all the moaning? That was the best Vegas race I've seen in years. So boo-hoo, five drivers drove to the lead, were they not actually racing? were they being content woth what they had? WAS IT A CONGA LINE? NO!

To the tire-war antagonizers- Let me guess, you want tires so soft they melt at 60 degrees, right? Just so you can see your demo derby dream? Sorry, no support or sympathy here. Had it not been for the last two cautions, there is a chance that would have been the fastest LVMS Cup event ever. What even leads you to believe that the tires are the problem.

You know, now I see why people get ignored, because winning over the populous is impossible. You whine when nothing happens, you whine when the tire can't hold it's own weight. It makes me wonder why they even bother to participate, why not just show NASCAR the hate-mail and say "Screw this, we have better things to do."

Yes, I'm 🤬 ticked.

yes for the lovers its always a good race

A capital thought indeed, rita. Been there, done that. Borefest or not, I hate to miss a race; I had an urgent job thrown at me on Friday, which extended itself into Sunday and cut into my NASCAR fix. I'll catch a replay later, maybe study the moves at leisure, and hindsight, knowing now the outcome already. 👍

I just caught the last few laps - just when Matt and Kasey were about to duke it out dodging through traffic - and I just cranked . . it . . up! I love the sound of the new cars; dang, I'm in no position right now to be where the real action is. Trackside.

This new car is going to smash records. There. I said it.

Put down those rocks, now. And who hit Danica in the head?:ouch:

Alright! On to the brawl at Bristol. And they better keep the helmets on. Those cars are pretty big rocks when they start throwing them around.
