Yeah, they called it off about three weeks ago I believe. Sprint transferred sponsorship to the Shootout/Unlimited, and they had been looking for a replacement.

Aside from giving the crews their own spotlight, what did it correlate to in the All-Star?

That's it? They are the only reason NASCAR can go more than 50 miles at a time(now) and the one time they get to show-off their skills, that is all it amounts to? I think the NASCAR Officials are more valued than them, what the hell.

More News!

Agreement Makes Company Official NASCAR Partner And Contingency Sponsor In NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Touring & Weekly Series, GRAND-AM Road Racing

NASCAR and Sherwin-Williams announced a multi-year partnership designating the nation's largest specialty retailer of paint and painting supplies as the "Official Paint of NASCAR." Sherwin-Williams, a FORTUNE 500 company, will leverage its new designation for architectural paint and the power of NASCAR's intellectual property to activate at its more than 3,500 stores nationwide and ignite the passion of its customers many of whom are fiercely brand-loyal fans of the sport
In addition to signing on as an Official NASCAR Partner, Sherwin-Williams also becomes a Contingency Sponsor in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Touring & Weekly Series and GRAND-AM Road Racing. The NASCAR and GRAND-AM contingency programs foster strong relationships between competitors and the high-quality, performance-driven brands that are part of the program, by providing prize money for each race and at the end of each racing season. Competitors become eligible for the money by displaying partner decals on their race vehicles. As part of the contingency program, Sherwin-Williams will be title sponsor of the Fastest Lap Award in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

And a few paint schemes!

And Kyle's for the All-Star

Funny, the only paint used in NASCAR is on the walls and in the grass. The cars and haulers are all wrapped!

That Snickers car is the single most laziest car I've seen from Mars. It's a shame, they usually have a good track record when it comes to this.......
The sad thing is that it isn't the laziest car at Gibbs this year (That would be the 20's Big Red Blob)

I don't like the red either, especially being Home Depot. I'd have it bright hunter orange. I like Kyle's car, the Snickers draped largely across the rear quarters is different. I'd like to see bits of the candy on the hood though.

I really hope that's not how the snickers logo looks on the actual side of the car, that just looks really sloppy.

Is part of that Snickers logo actually going to be on the window? Doesn't seem legal, even if it were to be partially transparent.

If it is I doubt it would be behind the rollcage, looks like whoever made that got all their layers muddled up on photoshop.

You do realize that the red isn't for HD but for Husky their brand of tools which is same as Craftmans too.

I actually like the red blob honestly and also the way the yellow/orange works but do agree that Kyle's car looks like a very crappy job all together like someone just putting together paint jobs did it without a resize or something.

BK should run that schme more often, I think it looks a lot better.

You like the Yellow Orange? I kinda feel that shade of Orange just doesn't look right the way it fades to Yellow.

No I didn't know that.

As for Brad, Miller needs to stop promoting this swill known as "light" beer, it's disgusting and an insult to brew masters. They need to go back to promoting black and gold of Genuine Draft and compete with their true competition, Buttwuper.

I'd love to see Bell's sponsor a Cup car. Their Oberon would make for some amazing paint schemes. :). And Coors needs to return to what made them, COORS, not that crappy light junk that can't even be drank unless the mountains are blue!

The true taste of a beer is when it warms to room temp. Good beer comes to life when it's taken out of the fridge and allowed to sit for 15 minutes before being opened and poured into a glass. And doesn't need to be served at 33 freaking degrees to be tolerable!!!

End of rant.

Jeff's Star Wars car is one if my all time favorites :)

You mean they don't already? You silly :p

Also found the bear rant kinda ironic, not a personal dig at you but just humorous given the stereotype about NASCAR fans.

Miller Lite has been around longer then Genuine Draft. Miller uses Miller Lite because their market research says Miller Lite benefits more from being on the 2 then any other Miller brand.
Besides that, Miller High Life was on a NASCAR car first.

Also, I don't drink (Straight Edge), but my mates who do drink dislike all of the mainstream drinks and prefer...... ummmmm, "White Lightening".

LOL. Reminds me of Boon's Farm "wine" and Mad Dog 20/20. I was 15 when Genuine Draft came to market. I'm well aware High Life is where it started. (Not being defensive). Unfortunately, between Miller/Coors (yep they teamed up) and Budweiser, they care more about money than they do the beer. That's why they spend so much in advertising, especially Budweiser, to convince people that it tastes good. All 3 are the McDonalds of beer. They've sold billions even though it tastes like crap.

No. Apparently, it was a mistake in the render.
Here I leave the Diecast by LIONEL.

Plus, Jeff Gordon and the DTEH Facebook page has announced that they have a new livery for the 600.

What would you say if we told you there was a new paint scheme for the Drive to End Hunger 24 car that Jeff Gordon will drive in the Coca-Cola 600?

And here is "Panica Datrick All-Star Showdown/Race scheme"

It could be better but I kind of like how it is honestly. I think the redish and black work better together. I'm a fan of weird schemes and don't like mainly one neutral color like black, brown, white, dark blues.

The only true light beer I ever drink is Bud Light and that's like water with some off flavoring. I tend to not drink if that's what I got available but the Apple Red Ale they put out was pretty tasty for what it was.

I agree if a beer is still good at room temp, it's a good beer.

From yesterday:
'Oversight' leads to Gibbs-Busch team penalty

Excess body filler on No. 54 Toyota draws fine, probation

NASCAR issued penalties Tuesday to the most recent Nationwide Series winning team, handing down a fine and probation to the No. 54 Joe Gibbs Racing operation for a bodywork violation at Darlington Raceway.

Crew chief Adam Stevens was fined $10,000 and placed on probation until the end of the year. Stevens has helped guide driver Kyle Busch to five Nationwide wins this year, including a romp in last Friday night's VFW Sport Clips Help a Hero 200.

Car chief Christopher Landis was also put on probation until Dec. 31.

The infractions stemmed from the amount of body filler on the nose of the No. 54 Toyota; officials found the modification in opening day inspection May 9 at the 1.366-mile track.

"I think the NASCAR officials actually helped us this weekend by making us change the nose," Busch said Friday after leading 107 of 147 laps in his 56th career Nationwide victory. "They put the downforce back in it. These guys were trying to slick it up too much. I don't know. No, that wasn't it. We had too much Bondo in an area to cover up the seam….between the two halves of the nose. They just didn't like the amount of Bondo we had on it, so it was almost a disadvantage where it was. They made us change it. No big deal."

Said Stevens: "It was just an oversight from the shop. We had a little bit of damage on this car when we raced it at Fontana (Calif.). It's just typical race repair and the area in question just had a spot of Bondo on it. We just didn't do a good enough job checking the templates like we always do, and that's shame on us."

I like how Danica has the only special scheme in the open.
Even the team knows she's winning the fan vote.

I fully expect that she will ride around in the back so as not to wreck her car. All she has to do is finish on the lead lap, and win the fan vote, and she is in the All-Star Race. It's a sham, but it's probably going to happen.

Also, my favorite All-Star race paint scheme was driven by one of my least favorite drivers.

No, that's not the sham.
This, however, is the sham:
Bob Pockrass ‏@bobpockrass
#NASCAR says its news release earlier this year was wrong..the fan vote winner does not need to finish on lead lap & that has been the rule

According to Jeff Gluck on Twitter, NASCAR is now claiming that the lead lap rule was only enacted in 2012, but in reality the rule has been enforced for every year since at least 2005 with the exception of 2011, because of Junior.
