Once Crashica's novelty wears off she will be out of Cup. She is probably the worst driver in Cup right now. I think Morgan Shepherd could probably do just as good as her. Her frequency of crashes has to be extremely expensive.

Hopefully she realizes this so when the time comes, perhaps at the end of next season and shes let go her fall from fame wont be so hard on her. She can still make a nice living driving in the United Sports Car League for a backmarker team or something similar

I hate to break it to you but it won't be next year that she moves on from Nascar. I give it a solid 5 more years before it's run into the ground!

They better not bring that trash over there, that's the last thing that series needs.

The sad thing is, she only has 3 DNF's this year, which isn't that many considering there are 4 drivers in the top 15 with at least 3 and 4 more drivers have 2.

So the 27th in points is all Danica's "talent".

I'll give it a maximum of 3 years. 2 sounds more likely though, because next year Crashica won't be protected by her rookie status any longer. 👍

I thought Johnson only had a deal with Dreamworks not Disney.
He ran a Monsters Inc. car at Dover this year.
Even though it's Bruno, it would be sweet to see a Senna in NASCAR.
Also, Tony might be a prick, but he does have a heart somewhere in there. I guarantee her medical bills are being paid for by him.

Bruno Senna in NASCAR? Who's next, Lewis Hamilton? Ken Block?

Jeff Gordon has 5 DNF's and counting, which shows that his luck is worse than Danica's talent. :p

Worst driver in cup? Are you serious?

I would be willing to bet they would all do better then Danica (more so Hamilton and Senna since they seem still young enough to adapt as was the case with Piquet).

If NASCAR allowed Danica in, then Lindsey Lohan, Honey Boo Boo and Krusty the Clown. No need to be competitive in Cup if they draw a crowd. right?

In their rookie year?

And what constitutes poorly? Getting unlucky with some of her DNF's? Being 27th out of 53? Being a woman?

She'll be top 15 next year.

Krusty the Clown.

I totally want to see that.

She is a rookie in name only though, she has had 7 years in IndyCar. She is about as much of a rookie as JPM was in 2006. I would also say she is 27th out of 38 as that is the amount of drivers that have at least started a majority of the races. Plus the standings include drivers not running for Cup points.

Also...

UPDATE 2: It's sold. With those two words, James Finch announced the sale of Phoenix Racing on Wednesday. Finch declined to name the buyer, explaining that the new owner preferred to make an announcement of his own either Friday or Monday. "I can't tell you yet," Finch said. Finch added that he will assist the new owner through the Sprint Cup race at Atlanta on Sept. 1. That race will mark the end of Finch's 23-year run as a Sprint Cup and Nationwide team owner. "They wanted the help," Finch said. "They've never run any Cup races or anything like that, so I'm going to help them. I don't want to say a whole lot. They've got a sponsorship and a driver they want to introduce later in the year."(News Herald)(7-17-2013)

Hopefully whoever it is(probably Scott) they run it better than Finch did.

I say she runs about the same as she is this year. She never showed huge improvements over her nationwide career either. Granted I'm not going to sit here and bash her because that just gets old in general.

Lewis Hamilton has shown some interest in trying NASCAR.

He did do the swap with Stewart a few years ago. Not everyone has the mindset of Michael Schumacher.

Got old. Everyone complains about the TV banging on about her. Then you come here and it's the same.

And even if it is 27th out of 38 "regulars" still means there is 11 drivers who are worse and most have much more experience.

Danica's best season imaginable for next year would be about 21st in points. Realistically, I expect she will hang around in 24th-27th place, in front of all the start-and-parkers and the sadly underfunded BK Racing team.

And worse equipment. 💡

Funny how you automatically assume drivers like David Ragan are "worse" without even looking at the facts.

Exactly my point, given the proper equipment, David Ragan (for example, since you mentioned him) had a legitimate shot at sweeping Daytona in 2011, which hadn't been done in almost 30 years.

To be far and frankly realistic, anyone can sweep the restrictior plate races (including Ragan). The gap between good equipment and bad equipment gets thrown out the window and it becomes a race anybody can win.

I never said anyone in particular is bad. Just because Danica is in Stewart-Haas doesn't automatically mean her car has an ideal set-up for every race and should match Smoke week in week out. At least Ragan has experience and set-up knowledge on his side..

And sweeping a plate race? WOO!

Imagine if next year, Jimmie Johnson swept ALL of the restrictor plate races. There would be so much outrage considering he had no luck at those tracks last year.

And Stenhouse, the other rookie, is actually getting consistent top 20's in a fairly equal car. Happy with that comparison instead?

By the way, expecting anyone except maybe Johnson or other big-time stars to gain success with Front Row Motorsports shows your lack of knowledge on how much good equipment really matters in this sport.

She'll be top 15 next year.

The only way she'd be top 15 is if every track was flat out the entire lap (ie Daytona). That's what she's good at. That's why she was able to lead the Indy 500 for a few laps. That's why she won (a fuel mileage) race in Indycars. That's why she was average at best on Road Courses there.

That's why she's doing terrible here in Nascar. Because she can only go flat out 4 times a year.

It would be shocking if it didn't happen.

Danica's only six chances at a top 10 finish this season are the four plate races and two road course races. I am willing to bet she misses on more than half of those six chances. In the other thirty races, she won't record a single top ten finish this season.

Looks like this is going to hold up. :)
