All about the Midwest this weekend in NASCAR. Trucks and Cup are ggoing full speed around Michigan International Speedway, and Nationwide will get busy at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
If this weekend will be the first time you see Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, let me tell you. Mid-Ohio is one of the best road courses in North America (let alone the United States) and arguably THE best in the United States. Many different kinds of racing machines contest around Mid-Ohio from grassroots to professional, four wheels or two wheels. This track will test you on a number of levels. The layout is pretty competitive to test almost any kind of racing machine around it. I've always known it as an IndyCar mainstay as well as the home of the SCCA Runoffs (before moving to other facilities). It is going to be fun to see how the Nationwide series takes on Mid-Ohio.
The NASCAR Trucks will take on Michigan in the first weekend of the FOX Sports 1 era. I'm pretty sure FS1 wouldn't mind if Joey Coulter won this race, since he'll be rocking the FS1 truck. It will be business as usual for Cup as the Chase for the Cup looms near with drivers needing to step up to stage their campaign to make this year's Chase.
Good luck to all drivers and teams this weekend across all levels of NASCAR racing this week and this weekend.
