Legacy is more about what is left behind for family members.

Exactly... the "family of Nascar". Just look at what the pastrana's just did.

EDIT: When dale earnhardt died, he left his legacy on the NASCAR FAM.

Rumor is they were mad he ran 22 laps before parking instead of 10.

Another rumor is that Speed discovered their plan to pay him in Monopoly money.

Good thing he has a backup plan anyway, I'm kinda surprised he hasn't jumped to Indycar

Not surprised if either of those are the reason why he's not with the team any more.

He already had to deal with Team Red Bull not paying him, and then dealing with the Start and park team in the Nationwide Series last year. Plus, Leavine Family Racing had originally stated they were not going to be S&P this year regardless of sponsorship, which is why they were only running a partial schedule.

He's done pretty well in GRC this year considering he's had no rally experience previously. I doubt there's an IndyCar ride available for him, but that could an area he could do well in with a good ride. If not, there's always some form of sports car racing.

Paint Scheme Preview: Richmond and Iowa.

Cup: Only one I really like is Jr's 88. Nice shade of blue on the car and to contrast the white number as well. The others just don't really stand out to me.

Nationwide: 5 Looks interesting, although resembles the great clips paint scheme abit. 6 car I kinda dig with the Grid overlay. 7 seems like its clashing abit with the Fade of the blue and Yellow with the Balloons and streamers over it. 32 is that same dumb paint scheme that was on Busch's cup car and it still looks terrible.

Truck: Other then the Exide colors (which we really don't see anymore), nothing all that impressive.

Wow Junior is being sponsored by a cable company and Mr.H himself this weekend?? I guess that goes to show you that sponsorship ain't easy nowadays.

EDIT: And light blue isn't exactly legend-esque for Junior, those colors fit Johnson and Khane. Junior's Legend colors are green and red.

Snickers has always had horrible sponsor placement on stock cars. Their logos never fit onto the side of the car.

Sato scares him.

I agree though, if other F1 drivers can make the move to do it, he should as well. I don't think he'd be too bad and his Nascar experience though not great, would pay off quite well in that area of racing.

This is the biggest amount of trite you've produced yet, and luckily after this weekend (if you live up to it) you'll be gone. Since Gordon wont make the chase and our bet as stated will have you away from the forum for a year.

More fuel for the Burton to Swan Racing rumors.

Stremme out of ride after Richmond? Sources in the NASCAR Sprint Cup garage have confirmed that Saturdays NSCS Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond international Raceway will be the final race for driver David Stremme at Swan Racing. Stremme is also a minority owner in the team. Nationwide Series driver, Cole Whitt, is expected to race the car at Chicagoland Speedway next week.(Popular Speed)(9-6-2013)

Tonight begins the short track racing madness expected this weekend. Nationwide will be turned loose tonight at Richmond followed by the Cup race tomorrow night at Richmond. The Cup drivers still with a chance to make this year's Chase will need to step their game up in their last chance to make this season's Chase for the Cup. And on Sunday, the Trucks will return to oval racing at Iowa after their road racing stint at Mosport last Sunday.

But tonight, best wishes and good luck to all Nationwide drivers tonight at Richmond.

Every time I read your posts, I roll my eyes. That's saying something.

All the typical NASCAR reporters on Twitter are saying that there is no deal in place for TK and JGR, and that it was an informal visit only.

Yes, he's doing that as an option in the possibility he can't get a ride in Indycar next year.

Ty Dillon is still being favored for the 78. Childress most likely using it as leverage for FRR's technical alliance.

Where are you hearing this? I keep reading that Montoya is the front-runner for the 78 team right now. I also don't see Ty moving up immediately to the Cup series, since he has yet to run a full season in Nationwide.

So far, Austin spent two years full-time in Trucks (2010-2011) before moving up to NW, where he spent two more years (2012-2013), before moving up to Sprint Cup (2014).

If Ty follows the same developmental path, he still has at least two years to run full-time in NW before he is going to move up to Cup. That might even be a stretch, since Austin has been more successful in the lower series than Ty, so far.

Austin ran part time Nationwide during his two years of Trucks. Ty has done the same. Austin has run part time Cup while running two years of Nationwide. Ty will most likely do the same.

I've heard the FRR/Ty Dillon stuff on twitter from a source that hasn't been wrong yet with the driver changes this year. It's the same source that broke the news of Kurt Busch to SHR before anything was even made public.

It just doesn't make much sense for FRR to go to a part time lineup with Ty Dillon and someone like Mark Martin or Jeff Burton, since they are trying to grow the company and make the Chase.

I know. I'm not believing that story, and Montoya was at their shop on Tuesday.

It would be a major setback from what they managed this year if they have part-time drivers.
