What, no talk about the big revelation on Race Hub last night? Bootie Barkers admission that BK was right and teams were indeed cheating with the rear ends last year. OK, he didn't actually say cheating, he said "we were using parts not for their intended purpose" :sly: Well, a "rules clarification" last year and a complete redo of them this year by NASCAR seems pretty telling.

Well you know that's why top teams have all those crew guys, they try new things and find loop holes in the rules. Is it unfair to smaller teams, sure but you know every major motorsport that isn't totally spec build has the same issues.

Agreed, but I'll say that for the most part Nascar is on it when it comes to that. It was just a couple of years ago Carl Edwards got penalized for having the rivets in the rear windshield drilled out. You'd have to be pretty switched on to catch something like that. They must have dropped the ball on the rear end issue.

It's only cheating if you get caught. I don't remember Hendrick getting caught breaking the rules in regards to the rear suspension.

Sometimes I think BK speaks just to hear himself talk.

Honestly I don't really care for S&Pers, they will always be there and if NASCAR does by a miracle find a way to get rid of them we'll have more cautions (See Jason Leffler last year at the Glen) and more lapped traffic, so if you want more of a "show" and less of a race then watch Monster Jam.
As far as the rear end deal, teams 20, 30 years ago would do the exact same thing everybody is doing today, which is simply finding loopholes (Jr. Johnson more or less wrote the rulebook with everything that was put in because of him). If you aren't trying to get faster in this sport then there is the door.

Or maybe he was speaking because it was so clear even from looking out the drivers in car cams that something was up and he expected something to be done about such an obvious infraction. I am not just pointing fingers at Hendrick's cars either, even though I believe they were first, many teams were doing it. Which is what happens when someone is so clearly "fudging" the rules, if the sanctioning body doesn't put their foot down everyone starts doing it. What do you mean they didn't get caught, what do you think "rules clarifications" are for? You don't watch F1 do you :sly:

There is a cure actually, unfortunately the economy is out of NASCAR's control. I remember in the mid-00's when fully funded decent rides were missing races(I remember the #10 Valvoline car missing a race was one of the reasons the top-35 rule was implemented).

If you aren't trying to get faster in this sport then there is the door.

I don't know who originally said it, but I'll quote DW as it's his 2nd most said thing after "Boogity!".

"If you ain't cheating you ain't trying"

That's one of the things I love about motorsports, teams are always trying to find new ways to stretch the rulebook.

He said "there could be some failures in races to come". What does he mean by that?

Because of the additional camber they've been allowed, it'll possibly cause some additional strain on the drive plate and on the rear Axel.

Would anybody be interested in a fantasy league that i'm starting this season?

Also, Ryan Reed is going to drive the number 16 for RFR in select Nationwide races, And Darrell Wallace Jr. is for KBM in the Truck Series full-time.

I'm pretty sure there's going to be an official GTP Fantasy NASCAR series this year too, just like last season:

Depends on the set-up.👍

I am doing it again this year, but it's un-official, I can't stop anyone from starting one nor would I.

I want to do it where my friends from school could join too. They don't really much care about GTPlanet. Where should I set it up? Start a new thread or on Facebook?

NASCAR.com has a fairly cool Fantasy set-up with live scoring, would probably be the easiest.👍

Have you been to that site recently? Boy have they screwed that up! I hope they get their act together before the season starts. I was being shunted to what appeared to be the mobile version of the site this morning on my desktop and none of the menu choices were active, just the mobile home page. They didn't pick a very good time to include a customer satisfaction survey upon my logout :grumpy:

Does it look like this? I have been having issues as well.

I tried both FF and IE and got that on both.

I got that too, I just thought "Do you really wanna know?".

Yes sir, that would be the page.

Glad to see it's not just me.

Also, it's hard to shed the whole redneck image when Jeff Foxworthy is sponsoring a race.:indiff:
Jeff Foxworthy's Grit Chips sponsoring Spring Bristol Nationwide race: Let's face it, some things just "belong" together. So when Roswell Food Group CEO Sean McDonough saw the chance to pair one of the South's favorite comfort foods with one of the country's favorite snack items, Grit Chips were born. Even better, when his young company was presented with the opportunity to pair their new snack with perhaps the one person who represented the South better than anyone Jeff Foxworthy's Original Grit Chips became a reality. Taking this idea of great "pairings" one step further, McDonough and his Roswell Food Group have agreed to a four-year deal to host the spring Nationwide race at iconic Bristol Motor Speedway, creating what may be the perfect blend of racing, regionalism and great taste. With more than 250,000 fans set to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and an exciting weekend of racing, it's a good time for folks to plan to be a part of the exciting new Spring tradition that is the "Jeff Foxworthy's Grit Chips 300"(BMS)(2-6-2013)

NASCAR.com looks perfectly normal to me.

Also, that's not the first Grit Chip's race. I think the Atlanta Truck race last fall was sponsored by it. Now it's Nationwide Bristol race. It's only a matter of time before the Cup Series becomes "Jeff Foxworthy's Grit Chips Cup Series"

Still none can match that classic, the "Hersheys Kissables 300 presented by Reese's Peanut Buttercups".

Glad to see it's not just me.

Implying Jeff Foxworthy is the only thing that keeps the redneck image?

Even without Jeff Foxworthy, I can name you several things that still keep that redneck image.

If only they threw in a KitKat or two.

Then when we all ask them to give us a break, it's justified.

Also, article reffering to Darrell Wallace Jr in the KBM Truck here.

I kinda can't help but snicker at who the author is, especially after the awkward question he brought up at Daytona.

No, I'm saying it doesn't exactly help lose it though. I also know there are other things, I still see mullets and shirtless skinny guys with farmers tans on broadcasts.
