Lmao, Johnson just destroyed the front of that car.

Let the conspiracy theories begin........ Anyway, that was by far the worst plate race since the infamous 2000 Daytona 500. :yuck: It's like everybody was scared to actually pull out and pass which would've made a great race. Instead, we got nothing but a 200 mph funeral procession due to the car configuration and the drivers being a bunch of 🤬. Congratulations NASCAR, you've just lost a lifetime fan. 👎

I bet knaus told Johnson to destroy the car so it would pass inspection, at least junior made it interesting like usual at the end

John, you can just say his name. Anyone who doesn't want it spoiled should be smart enough to stay out of the thread.

It was a pretty good race to watch. I only managed to see it from lap 82 onwards, but hey, I got to see it finish. Glad it didn't end like yesterday.

Greg Biffle really is an idiot when it comes to plate racing. No clue how to handle a clutch situation.

I'm thankful for his idiocy, though. Quite pleased with the results. HMS 1-2 :)

Well done Jimmie.

Not the greatest of races, but then i't the first time out for the Gen6 cars properly, and at a plate track.

..

should I mention Danica, and then complain about how much people are talking about her?

Would you sooner see what happened yesterday again? God damn. Cheer up.

Okay. See you next week.

The real test will be over the next 2 weeks, where we go to Phoenix (Basically a short track) and Vegas (Basically one half of the schedule).
Congrats Jimmie, and great job at FOX for interviewing Danica as soon as she got out of the car 👎

OK then. Bye.

So we've now seen the Gen-6 NASCAR car in action. What do you think? Is it a better car than the previous model? A worse car than the previous model? Or is this race not really a good enough sample size?

Thats pretty much my opinion. We really need to see it run in all configurations to really gauge it proper.

Yup. The Vettel Effect.

I call it The Loeb Effect... does that mean that it's really The Sebastian Effect?

A bit disappointed I didn't start watching it earlier. I'm not gonna lie, I was on the edge of my seat and biting my nails, and I've never bitten my nails before. A lot of you are saying that was boring but I don't think it was. Mind you, I barely watch NASCAR these days, so... :p

That's OK, they picked me up to start watching some races, so it all balances out.

Honestly Yes, at least that race had passing. Just switch the cars and then the races will be way more interesting.

Well, the Danica Patrick 500 is finally over.

I stopped watching it after 100 laps, could not take the 'every-tenth-word-is-related-to-Danica-Patrick" commentary.

Ugh. Not good for Kenseth.

So is there any reason why Fox is playing their NFL theme music?

Well, that was.... special.
A bit disappointed to be honest, the "Freighttraining" got a bit out of hand.
I still think the tandem drafting was the most exciting way of racing.

Anyway, the Gen6 cars are sexy and the Daytona 500 isn't the only race in the year. :)

If that's all it takes to push you away, then I question the legitimacy of your liking to NASCAR in the first place.

But anywho, bye bye. Or see you next week.

I honestly agree with that post 100%

They need to go to a track not specifically engineered over 30 years to have boring races with 30 minutes worth watching. Next week should be a lot better simply by virtue of not being Daytona. And Bristol is only a few weeks after that, too. I really want to see how they do after getting banged around a bit.

Danica did better than I expected, glad to see JJ take the win, was really pulling for Mark Martin at the end. However, Fox has terrible coverage and the racing was not to exciting except for the end..

I go to the auto club race every year so in my opinion that was pretty exciting haha. People are just use to the intensity of the 2 car tandems and seeing last lap passes/crashes that anything else at a super speedway is just boring. I'm a johnson fan so I'm pretty satisfied. I will admit if it were brad or biffle winning in that same situation I would have different opinions.

I wish ambrose had more help and knew how to fallow the draft better at the end. Unfortunate for matt and kyle, was really hoping kenseth would have been there at the end. Shame stewart and montoya were caught in that early wreck also. Overall though a decent race, if it wasn't for all the Danica coverage.

Holy crap, they played EOTS

I don't even care about the Danicamania right now, my day was just made.
