I intentionally skipped todays race because California is one of the most boring tracks on the schedule. Looks like I missed out.

As the resident Junior super fan, that not right. He actually gain on concussion via testing at Kansas with the new tires to be used. The next wreck made it even worse, and he was told it would be in his best interest to sit out or something worse may happen.

The point I tried to make was putting a SAFER barrier probably wouldn't have reduced his injuries. The vertical lift of the car was the probably the most concerning aspect of the wreck.

Watch Hamlin lose his brakes at Watkin's Glen and see that impact.

Of course, its not right to compare accidents but you can almost bet your bottom dollar a SAFER barrier will not prevent injuries.

Agreed, Lagano's response gets me more due to the eye for an eye attitude/vibe. Which means that nearly half the top guys may not finish a several races during a season if this mentality were to happen. For example: Hamlin got Lagano, Lagano got Hamlin...now next week Hamlin could get Lagano or Stewart will get Lagano or Lagano may get Stewart (if he isn't talked to). See what I mean, and then it just mudslides from there. But that isn't what Nascar is about, and people should grow up.

Lagano's issue I feel is similar to other drivers such as BK, Kenseth or Biffle, the picked on drivers that don't want to put up with crap. I just think Lagano has the worst anger.

I just hate that this is the way Logano decides to deal with those issues. That outburst with Harvick at Pocono years ago was at the time the worst he could do and even then months later, he and Harvick were laughing together, problems (and ironically, harvick went on to have issues with Hamlin). Lately however, he's resorted to more childish ways and its making him look alot worse.

I think Logano getting punched in the face a couple times was more than balanced out by him purposely putting a driver in the hospital and then saying he was glad it happened.

I feel like this will make Logano a better driver.

I understand and agree. Too bad I don't currently have speed, I guess I will have to follow nascar.com and see what happens now.

I feel like this will make Logano a better driver.

How exactly...?

First you use an outdated insult for a prostitute, then you post this. Please tell me what you have been drinking or smoking so I can avoid it.

So you don't think that Logano should be suspended then.
Nah, suspend his ass for a race too for good measure. NASCAR are already throwing around fines for making light of accidents, so mocking a person you put in the wall on purpose probably doesn't get outweighed by someone else trying to deck the guy who said it (albeit for something else entirely).

The point I tried to make was putting a SAFER barrier probably wouldn't have reduced his injuries. The vertical lift of the car was the probably the most concerning aspect of the wreck.

One thing I noticed while watching the replay was that before that inside wall the pavement dips down and than climbs back up to the wall. Forward momentum hitting that would help lift the nose of the car before impact.

Another thing I noticed is that Hamlin stayed in the throttle for quite a while before he hit. Not sure what he was thinking there.

Notes from the weekend:

-Vettel is a spoiled sissy
-I've started to like Webber a little bit
-Tony Stewart confirmed his status as my least favourite driver ever.
-Based purely on what I saw, I don't think Logano did anything intentional, but I haven't heard any interviews other than Stewarts.

-HINCH is awesome

I know what YOUR POINT was, that was a non-concern for me. I wanted to make sure you have the fact correct next time you use that point is all:sly:

I agree with this, but I already like Webber more than Vettel anyway. :sly:

Agreed.

It looks like he tried to keep in the throttle to save his race car and bring it to the line. He was probably raging at that moment and felt he could control the car.

Hamlin actually steers back into Logano after he gets loose, that's what starts the whole chain reaction, really.

Nasty, nasty hit. Hopefully it's nothing more than broken ribs.

Purely based on that, I don't see anything intentional. Joey, on older tires, got loose and ran up the track. Denny gave him plenty of room, but Joey was determined to beat him so naturally, on the last lap, didn't lift. Any other time of the race and he lifts for sure.

Kyle was probably going to get around both of them, regardless.

The "thats what he gets" comment, I don't think he knew Denny was in an ambulance at the time. I can't see any driver being classless enough to knowingly say it in that situation.

It was a great weekend of racing. Hope that Denny checks out okay. Whether we love these drivers or whether we hate them - the entertainment they offer us is dependent on their safety.

Next race could be deadly if people don't calm down and stop this escalating towards the unthinkable.
Sure we have come a long way from the King running over a little boy, and the sport is made safer every year - but safety reaches it's limits when intelligent deliberation is thrown away at the mercy of taking the passion to the point of thoughtlessness.

We're human, and we're intelligent, because we think. Time for everybody concerned to stop flapping their gums and think for a moment before they speak, and think for a nanosecond before they swing. Whether car or fist.

From a Joe Gibbs fan, I love Tony Stewart's reaction.

I hate Logano even more and love the fact he didn't win and is possibly being parked in two weeks time and in the interview, his bottom lip was quivering. The kid is still a kid.

You love drivers being hypocrites?

The wreck wasn't intentional, the video shows that. Lagano's comments were more toward the end result of Denny not getting a good finish. It doesn't mean he meant to wreck Hamlin it just shows he is satisified that Hamlin's day was ruined.

I'm biased bro. If this whole situation was about Hendrick drivers, I would be very diplomatica and pragmatic in my response but hey my emotions come to fruition if my driver ends up in hospital.
