Jeff had bad luck all year. Should have had a win or two before now as it was.

But still.. 7 laps left and that caution happens. 👎

I'm disappointed that Jeff missed the Chase, but at the same time I think that because the way he's performed this year, he didn't deserve it. I'd rather have him be in it next year stronger than he was this year.

And most importantly, he needs a new crew chief. Alan Gustafson blows. 👎

EDIT: I can't blame him. I'd feel the same too:

Whoa whoa whoa dude, for one I'm sure he didn't know. Two I'm pretty sure Gordon only screwed himself over the year. I'm a Junior fan but to blame JJ and then Dale is uncalled for and sounds like anger from a fan of Jeff or a non-fan of Jr.

Basically what that sounds like.

And yes, Keselowski is not in. Suits him right.

Now watch Jeff go on a massive tear during the final ten, proving yet again the Chase is not needed. :dopey:

The championship standings in the Truck Series and Nationwide Series, with the new points system, prove the Chase isn't needed.

Jr spinning ANYONE out with so little left in the race. Then again he's the same guy who spun out on purpose many years ago.

Yeah which helped him and was clever, he paid for it though with points and a fine, so if you're not over that by now not sure what else to tell you. Also did you see the angle for sure that showed, the spin cause it looked head on rather than the perspective to 100% tell. Even if he did it's not like he did it on purpose to ruin the underdog favorite that didn't make it in.

All one needs to do is see how close they were in standings to JJ after this race to show the world it isn't needed and just to pull in views.

Also now it doesn't look like contact wasn't made says ESPN crew, as usual they jump the gun and then people go "well surely they know right!"

I agree. Without being in the chase, he has no pressure for these next 10 weeks and can focus on just winning.

Honestly, the only reason I'm watching any of the chase besides Talladega is for Fantasy.

Meh, its just venting by me. Its just clear that Gordon is getting no support from his organization. He is the 4th driver at Hendrick now and that will be the case for the rest of his career it looks like.

I wasn't even paying attention to that restart. Any other race and I think Carl would have gotten a penalty....

Alright LMS... you win the bet. I'm a man of my word.

I know I did, and we'll see if you are of your word.

I can understand that fine but when you blame the guy that tries not to ruin anything for anyone. I just have to wonder, but to plague a guy I follow causes counter venting. At times I feel though that JJ still has far more support over the others, however these past weeks say otherwise so Hendrick can have all four in the championship.

I'm still debating whether I should watch the final 10 races or not. I could avoid it again like I did last year, or watch Joey fail.

And I just found out Biffle got in :grumpy:

And everyone going all Ape on Jr need to calm the hell down. Turns out Dale Jr didn't even touch Bowyer, he spun himself out.

^ The tire cut down, but I'm glad the commentators most of you rip on happen to be the same group you take as absolute truth when they don't even know what they're talking about most days. Anyways, you should watch to see JJ be beat by someone new.

Dale Jarrett is now my favorite broadcaster in NASCAR, hope he moves to NBC or FOX

EDIT: Also, @ICEYOU

Okay, so Jr. didn't spin him, so this makes Bowyer Nascar's version of Nelson Piquet Jr.

My prediction for the championship: none other than Jimmie Johnson, whose name is already engraved on the trophy

*tinfoil hat warning* I didn't watch most of the race, but it sounds like NASCAR went two-for-two this weekend in creating late race cautions to manipulate the outcome of the races. :yuck: Even though the cause *Bowyer "spinning himself out" * is slightly more legitimate than last night's farce, we'll probably never know if NASCAR was on Clint's radio telling him to spin. *end tinfoil hat warning*

No, he spun by himself, possibly on order from the "butt"clown himself Michael Waltrip, primarily to help Truex, which had the (probably unintended) side effect of hurting Gordon.

This.

The 24 would've been nothing but a footnote in the Chase given how they've run all year, just like last time. The bigger concern is whether this will be a symbolic moment where Gordon's career takes a nosedive and never even comes close to having a shot.
