No, because he and JJ were swapping the points lead almost on a race to race basis. Dodge fan, yes, but truth is I picked him to win the damned thing so I was expecting him to fail horribly like almost everything else. No, I actively followed last year's chase, something not even Tony's barnstorming could do, though my dad was all over that one. It's the only Chase I've remained interested by the end. The individual races in Tony's were usually good, but it was more watching Carl continuously fail to stop the bleeding.
All that said, none of them hold weight with me, and the reason is because(oh boy) it doesn't feel like a real championship anymore. Unfortunately, I started watching NASCAR in 2001, but I knew about the championship fights, namely Labonte-Earnhardt 2000, and though I never saw them, I could feel the emotion people put into them when I heard or read about them. Even with the first chase, the emotion wasn't truly there. Most people I know/knew simply didn't care once the chase started, and for the most part neither have I. We'll see how this one goes, but Chicago's not got my attention.
I'm half asleep, and I think I confused myself re-reading this, but tis my feelings on the matter.
Oh, and Porsche was right, I was listing off the fail-prone drivers, as I see it anyway.
In short: My opinion, probably wrong to everyone here, as expected.
HEY! WAIT A DAMNED SECOND! You took the time to bold a line that is an obvious opinion, and accuse me of favoritism when 12 words, two commas, and some spaces later I state...
and even those arguments can be argued so in reality it's been a complete bust.
It's 1:30 AM here. I have to work. I'm going to bed now, but I am pissed.
