Oh, and by the way, because of those penalties throughout the season that totaled 31 points, if they were to do the same for him as they did Gordon (Pretty sure they would of), Brad missed the Chase. He would of tied with Joey and of been one point ahead of Jeff after Richmond and probably would of gotten in instead of Jeff.

NASCAR conference right now on Fox Sports 2

NASCAR had to call a mandatory meeting today for all Sprint Cup owners, drivers, and crew chiefs to tell them that they have to try to go forward 100% of the time, or they will be summarily punished.

Think about that for a second. NASCAR held a meeting, and told everyone in attendance:

"Guys, you need to try to move up when you are racing for points and money!"

What about "letting him go" early in the race when you know the guy behind is faster than you and there's no point holding him up?

EDIT:

Helton offered a “working” laundry list of what actions would be acceptable, such as “contact while racing for position, drafting, pitting, tire and fuel management yielding to a faster car, alternative pit strategy and long fuel strategy.” On restarts, Helton added that if a competitor elected to lay over for one driver, “you lay over for all” but that there would be further explanation in Sunday’s drivers’ meeting.

Answers that. Also pretty much says that Start and Parking is okay.

So wait, if a driver is trying to save fuel for a longer run or not put up a fight for someone who is faster or knows will be faster at a point; they have to give up all spots?

If you let someone by, you lose the race .

Thats why I call it the Busch Series.

I think the point is if they want to give way for one, they shouldn't block the next under the same situation.

I am concerned how this may affect the plate races... does this mean that it may be considered collusion if (for example) Kevin Harvick gets pushed to a victory at Talladega by Jeff Burton and not the other way around due to the Chase implications?

I just died.

I just died.

So did I.

New theory. ICEYOU is Brian France

^ This, and ICEYOU was also in reality the horde of Gordon fan's protesting. No but really, either ICEYOU is the most fortunate troll ever, or an inside man...*puts on tinfoil hat*

Also, the bet is indeed still going since ICEYOU still has a stake in it, me going away if I lose.

When NASCAR has to make a rule stating that the drivers must race to their full potential, you know the sport is hitting new lows. :dunce: And in other news, Kyle Busch *gasp* won yet again.

Watch ESPN commentator Brad Daugherty proclaim Kyle as the greatest and the driver to win the championship.

So, essentially, by those rules, if Driver A spins and Driver B gains benefit from it, both drivers are punished even if Driver B had no idea what happened.

That makes sense.

I love how there is a rule to contradict what you can do or can't do more than once 👍. "NASCAR where thinking harder is the only thing we know how to do", NASCAR is limited on common sense.

Then again it's hard to have consistent rules and still be entertaining and in your face like a action drama movie.

I'm very interested in seeing the reaction if Kyle ends up sweeping all three races. Knowing how over the top everyone already is, I'm gonna bet it'll be a riot

Dunno. Even that pales in comparison to everything that has happened since that spin at Richmond.

My favorite part off all that is the whole deal about spinning another driver. Vickers brought out 5 cautions at Martinsville, Gordon took out Bowyer BUT now it's an issue?

I'm guessing "boys have at it" is done with.

I'm guessing the only reason it existed was because of all the complaints of how boring the racing with the COT was.

I don't see this new "rule" making the racing any better.

It's also suppose to rain tomorrow, so NASCAR will most likely get another day to think up more ludicrous actions to take before the chase gets underway.
