I'm fine with it with this number. The 3 RCR car really doesn't need an elaborate paint scheme. The only time I can remember the 3 having one was in 2000, which was an All-Star car and really shouldn't count.

You mean the red one with Taz on the hood?

Back to racing news: According to the entry list for the Nationwide race at Kentucky, there are no Cup regulars running. 👍

This weekend right? NASCAR will get a double whammy, no Cup drivers and no viewers. ESPN News, seriously?

Yeah, this car was the exception, not the rule.
And remember Earnhardt was the guy who started special 1 race paint schemes in the first place, with the All-Star silver car making insane amounts of money from merchandising alone.

Nationwide race is listed for ESPN2. Not sure where the ESPNews is coming from...
Countdown is at 7 pm, race is at 7:30 Eastern Time on the news channel. Looking at my guide right now, watching Boardwalk Empire ;). As for ESPN2, ROLL TIDE!!!!!

Bye bye, NAPA. It's been too long but you made the right choice in the end.

That's really going to hurt MWR to lose a full-season major sponsor. As late as it is in the season, and as fresh as SpinGate is in everyone's mind, I can't imagine that MWR can land a lucrative sponsorship deal quickly enough for next season. Don't be surprised if Truex is out of a job, because I doubt MWR can field his car for very long without a sponsor. Maybe Truex can go to the 78 car.

If 5 Hour Energy left and Bowyer was left jobless at the end of the season, then it'd be some fine justice porn.

However, this puts just more salt in Truex's wounds. 👎

I feel terrible for Truex at this point. Loses shot at the Chase, which he rightfully earned on his own. Loses his sponsor due to circumstances that were out of his control. His wrist has a second broken bone in it now.

That's not actually true. Without the spin by Bowyer, both wild card positions were going to go to Kahne and Newman, with two wins each.

Not going to argue that, but Newman's pit crew cost him that race, not Bowyer spinning.

There wouldn't have been a final pit stop, if not for MWR's antics.

It was fun to watch Newman throw his entire pit crew completely under the bus during his post-race interview, though.

The NAPA sponsorship was $16,000,000.

I wonder if Michael Waltrip is considering firing Ty Norris now. That's a substantial amount of money to lose because of a "split-second decision".

Video: What was the point of that scuffle in the first place? Wasn't it Tony being hypocritical?

On NAPA: Sucks for Truex, but at least they took a long look at it before they made any decisions. Granted, it's either stay or go, but it's still a big decision.

On Truex: Ty, Michael, and Clint may have created the issue, but Truex is really the only one getting kicked in the balls. Honestly, if NASCAR wanted to get this right, they failed by making an exception for Jeff and magically creating another chase spot for him, kinda like there were three SHR teams, then Gene Haas made a fourth car magically appear for Kurt.

NNS: It won't be Busch series, but here's hoping whoever picks up title-rights will be easier to say.

Special scheme for Kenseth, for his 500th start.

Jamie Mac's #1 LINKSYS

Michael Mc's #51 SEM

And talking about MWR and NAPA, this is a big hit for Truex and all of the pit crew guys.
It's a shame that so many innocent people are going to pay for this.

Normally, I don't think of Black and Grey as an ideal paint scheme but somehow the 500th start one works. Would love to see someone try a combo of Matte Black and Chrome Silver, would make a interesting contrast.

The Linksys one is nothing special but its fine. Lets just hope Jamie's car doesn't disconnect.

And the 51 is abit...meh.

OK NASCAR, so the fans whining wasn't enough, whatever now we're going to hand the trophy to Jeff Gordon by default? Fair enough.
