...which is exactly what a Cadillac should be: a car that competes with the Germans but at the same time keeps a distinctly American flavor to it. Great looking car.

Looks really good actually. I love the flow of the lines. It just seems really nice and 'Cadillac-ish'. Id have to wait for real specs before deciding though.

The back is boring/bland (based on these two unconfirmed, blurry photos), however I don't feel it's ugly.

The front looks great, IMO. Even from that shot, and at a distance from the side, it looks amazing.

I don't understand how an Audi (that's not a TT or R8) could win in looks over anything. I'm also not a fan of the understeermobiles.

The bad news is, I think even an Audi looks better than that top picture. But it just might be the angle/color/blurry/etc.

Considering the ATS is the new sports sedan at Cadillac, I'm not surprised to see the CTS go a little bit softer in terms of design. It's target market is a little older, a little more conservative, and this could play very well into that market. The ATS and the ELR will cover the lower end where most of the money can be made.

I'm just wondering if this will be the first of their cars with the turbocharged V6 or not.

The front end looks really good, apart from the rear which doesn't look as bloated as before but it's still boring. Not ugly though but I still prefer any German cars in terms of styling...

I think these 2 pictures are nothing to go buy though I agree about the rear looking a bit boring, hope it's just the pic! I agree with YSSMAN, and if it's true, according to the good sales numbers of the ATS so far, it probably was the right decision to target the lets say 'older' buyers with the new CTS. Could work out! I certainly hope so.

I love the design of the german competition of Mercedes and BMW, but Audi??? Please, they haven't changed in ages I can't find anything interesting about them.

I wish Cadillac was more present in europe, I'm seriously interested in the ATS!

Front looks good but they need to keep the low, sleek, strong lines going to the rear. Stop trying to make it into a 3 series. We like you more when you have your own personality.

Honestly this car would be so sexy if the entire body followed the attitude of the front.

Love the front, but the rear reminds me of the old STS too much - not a BAD thing in and of itself, but it's not very progressive, either. Some more creativity aft of the B pillar would be appreciated! On balance, I think the current one is better-looking overall. Still, if it's anything like the current CTS and ATS on the inside and under the hood, it'll still make a for great car.

Why, not everyone likes chrome. I have "blacked out" all the chrome on a few cars I have built over the years.

doesnt have to be "Chrome" it can be other finishes like Platinum thats on the Chrysler 300 Luxury Series. it needs some kind of bright work to match the fronts detail.

'14 CTS-V could get a Force-Fed LT1 and Coupe/Wagon Future Uncertain

We hear that the 2014 Cadillac CTS-V may be powered by a new, force-fed V-8 based on the new Corvette’s LT1 engine. A final decision hasn’t been made, but we’re told GM is working on a twin-turbo design and a supercharged design, and one of them will be featured in the next CTS-V. The engine may also serve in the upcoming rear-drive flagship.

On a grander scale, it’s rumored this kind of thinking could result in the death of the CTS coupe and wagon variants despite the significant profitability of their V-series variants. There’s a fight to keep the variants in the name of global appeal, but the outcome is uncertain.

It's not 'bad' so much as it is 'not as good'. The outgoing CTS I find is a very avante-garde design. There's no pretensions of it wanting to do anything except kick 🤬. You notice it. But it's still quite upscale and luxurious - I feel confident in saying that it will age well. The one that was previewed in the post above just doesn't have the same sense of purpose and boldness to it,which I find disappointing.

Measured against almost anything other than the current car, it's still quite a good design.

I'm seriously liking that. The 420hp V6 sounds awesome and that's not even the CTS-V....
Can only imagine what a force fed LT1 can do.
