The first 13 races are about establishing your position, the second 13 are about getting as many pre-chase wins as possible and the final 10 are about getting the championship.

That's what I'm going for this year.

1st, 16th, 32nd.

First win of the year coupled with 2nd worst week of the year.

Round 9 Results:

yDblwNr.png

Legend:
GREEN BOX = Race win - gained 1 Consecutive Pick
RED BOX = Driver failed to finish - can be used next week without using CP
(CP) = Consecutive Pick used for selection
(P10) = 10 point penalty for selection, no CP available for this pick

Notes:

No new entries were made this week.

The Consecutive Pick for most points scored in round 9 was won by Carbonox, with a 1-2-3 finish. Carb also earned a bonus of 15 points and 1 additional CP.

Ten players received a Consecutive Pick for picking race winner Joey Logano**.

Four Consecutive Picks were spent this week (Jahgee1124, Adrenaline, jmacca, and ukfan758).

Five players did not submit picks this week (tbwhhs, Justin, Wilbur, JoeTruckV8, and JakobNascar88). All were docked 10 points per driver, if no CP was available**.

JMoney689 was removed from the standings after being inactive for three consecutive weeks.

**tbwhhs and JoeTruckV8 were eligible to receive the race win bonus CP for Logano because Logano was DNF in the previous round, and was able to be picked in this round without requiring a CP. Wilbur also was not docked for having Kahne this week, since Kahne was DNF last week.

The following cars/drivers can be picked in the next round without requiring a CP, due to being DNF this round: 15

Please let me know if you see any errors in anyone's score. Scoring errors will only be corrected up until the start of the next race.

EDIT - Corrected the number of Top-5 finishes for Earth from 9 to 11.

Down four spots to ninth. Seems to be the way my luck has been going lately, one good week followed by multiple bad ones. :indiff:

Only lost 6 spots, I expected worse. Still have a chase spot, barely, so I got that going for me.

Dang, I guess I forgot to resubmit my picks. Oh well, only would have been 7 points better.

Yeah, I remembered you posting that you were going to change to Larson. But, I triple-checked; you only had one entry.

Edit: I'm amazed that so many people picked Harvick and Logano the last two weeks. Harvick has never been good at Darlington, and Logano had never even led a lap at Richmond before this race. Some of you guys must be clairvoyant.

Harvick+Hendrick power+Rodney Childress=good recipe. As for Logano, it just seems like Penske have something figured out, and it's working out well for them.

Into the chase now 👍

Early Talladega picks:

#34, #38, #98

First because plates races have usually been a roll the dice scenario, second because Ford, and third because doge.

At least you guys are still IN the top 16, unlike me. :grumpy:

I randomly picked Logano in a friend of mine's league at Texas (you pick 1 driver a week and can only pick them once a segment, which lasts 9 weeks each). I had had some back luck lately, and when he asked for my pick, I just said "Hell, I don't know. Logano." He went on to win, but naturally I didn't choose him here. Like Niop said, the Penske cars just been very strong and I just had a good feeling about him this week. Of course, it was completely negated by Bowyer's last place finish. Ironically, I got a last place finish from Jr. here at Texas, too. And initially I liked how there hadn't been any start-and-parkers this season, but it's killed me with my picks finishing 43rd instead of something like 36th as it would have been in previous years.

@MustangRyan

Just a small issue, I should have 11 top 5s
That's not a small issue, since top-5s could be used in a tie-breaker scenario. 👍

I apologize for the error, and have already posted the corrected standings. I highly encourage everyone to look very carefully at their scores each and every week, as I don't want to mess up anyone's scores in any way. I'm doing this manually each week, so I'm sure I'm going to miss something from time to time.

However, after the start of the next race, all previous round scores are considered final and will not be edited.

ROUND 10 PICK FORM: Click here

My (likely-to-be-terrible) picks: 16/20/88

FYI: If there is a crash on the FINAL LAP of the race, the cars involved will not be considered DNF, even if they don't make it back to the finish line. To pick the same cars again the following week without penalty, a CP will be required.

Zut alors eh I dropped another position to 21st. I need all 3 picks in the top ten to bounce back at Talledega.

Going with 4, 20 and 24 for Texas
