Going to do my traditional router reboot before this as a pre-caution, don't want my silly connection to make things tricky.

Just waiting for i-was-ere to open up room 1

Seems my connection is playing up :/

Just got disconnected, trying to get back in. I get an "incompatibility with room owner" notification?
Restarted router, trying again.

Got disconnected too... Twice :/ Make that 3 times
Restarting router... Seems I'm going to miss quali then

Well, its over, my connection couldnt last more than 30mins, gutted really, it looked like I was fighting for 4th place.

I felt bad for you Nin, with all those disconnections.. you would probably have been around me and i-was-here then.. we finished 3rd and 4th five seconds apart.

Great racing tonight guys, check out the Facebook page for the press updates from both lobbies!! Adam is doing a great job so far..

Psyched about holding off scott and phouchg for 2nd. Didn't know how it would turn out as we were on differing pit strategies. Johhny was off on his own race, lol. Passed me twice! 2 laps down.

Just stayed clean for 96 laps i think was the difference, while several faster guys kept falling off. It was too bad that nin-chin had his connection issues as he would have been right in the mix.

Team Georgia :gtpflag:

That was a fantastic fight. Had no idea where you would end up after all the stops. After catching you in the second stint I thought my strategy might be the winning one but that third stint, wow.. started thinking about other thing and didn't do any good laps. Almost spun a couple of times and wasn't even near you that time. ^^ Ultimately, those around me had better pace in the race and I'm really happy with fourth. :)

That was a nightmare for me, doing reasonable in the warm-up, my pace would have put me in the top 4, disconnected as spec check began, tried to rejoin and I disconnect 4 times before even entering. Restarting the router, finally gets in and I miss quali, I disconnect again, and just before I disconnect but I managed to get back in, started at the pace made my way through the other cars up to what was a net 3rd and then heading to the last corner, my connection stuffs me up, but it's good to hear that duke_adam got 3rd so we still got some points.

Very odd, my connection has never been that bad, anyway there's always another day.

For my race in Room 2, I qualified in 3rd which I was happy about, but was a bit slow off the start and immediately got jumped by duke_adam. For the next 10 laps I was right on his tail and possibly had better runs into the straight, but some defensive lines kept adam in 3rd (perfectly fine imo as it was just covering the inside).

But then I clipped the final curb and spun into the pit entrance. I don't think I had damage, or if I did it was minor, but I was in pit lane and had to take a stop .

Spent the rest of the race getting back to 4th which was ok, and I suspect would have been my final placing anyway. Also had to do some math whilst driving to figure out revised pit stop strategy which I always struggle with.

Anyway, it was a good race and I enjoyed it a lot. 👍

Thanks for great race guys. I tryed to do the best what I can. On quali did my record 1.13.1xx, but still last on gread off course (just wonder can Memto bet it hihi) Race was clean with no accidents at all, 70% of laps under 1.14, I had one target- win with other 4x4 and I did it :) I change position with Play every pit stop and nobody knows who will win. Thanks for for race and cant wait for Nurburgring and rain, lots of rain ;)

I Was spectating in both lounges and there was some cracking racing in both. I think the revelation of qually were the T2.6K Corvettes, that definitely must have found some major set up improvements in the few days before the race as they were suddenly 2 seconds faster than I'd seen them in testing.

Equally it was fairly obvious that Deep Forest is probably the least kind circuit for the 4WD cars. With a lack of accelorations zones from slow hairpins or chicanes (e.g Monza / GVS) the Scooby and GTR were really struggling to keep pace with the 2WD cars. As Lucas said in the previous post, I'm sure both teams will be doing a 'rain dance' for the finale at The Ring. :)

Good racing all around guys. Jonnyb and I will be doing stewards reviews on both races over the next few days after which the official results will be published along with an updated Points Table.

Roll on Round 4 at Autumn Ring in 2 weeks time!

I was really surprised by quali in our group. Cobani who I thought I was on pretty equal pace with, got pole. Play in the impreza got second and me in third! What happened to jonny there? In the end quali didn't matter much though since cobani went from first to last. Play went from second to second to last. I lost one place to fourth. Jon went from last (not counting Nin and his misfortunes) to first and lapping everyone twice.

All that did make for a fantastic race though. :)

(I also think this might have been the worst track for the lexus, because it understeers like a 4wd ^^ )

I watching jonny, that Lotus looked like an X1, it was that good, I'm guessing he was sandbagging abit at the start and then picking up pace as he approached the first round of stops, its very fast through the long corners in the last sector, he brakes then flaws it up the hill, it was nice to watch.

In quali jonny was 1st, then Cobani pipped him by 0.004, but jonny was watching for half the time I think, then he started at the back with me, my pace would have put me in the top 4 I think.

Yep we did! Good to see David got a decent result with it.
My race was really poor on my side, the first crash out of the final corner into the pitwall left my left rear wheel on the right side of the car ... :ouch: :dunce:
My own mistake as I was pushing like hell ... but the speed is in the car, now for the results! Great racing gentlemen.

Shame about the disconnects ... hope it works next time out.

Nice race. Very high levels presented my opponents. A lot of fighting on the track. I hope not ruined anyone race. See you in training and at the Nurburgring.:)

That was mostly lack of practice. In quali I was trying to monitor the spec screen and Nin's return since Scott was making a rare appearance on the track.

In the first stint, I really struggled to find the good spots to pass, I kept getting killed under power out of the bumpy double-apex left onto the back straight by Mic when I slid about a bit too much/had other pesky cars in the way that couldn't corner basically flat out. Towards the end of the first stint I learned the place to do it was the start/finish straight, braking early into the final turn then get the slingshot on the car ahead.

I look forward to looking at the fight for 2nd and 3rd, I think Mic had it in the bag leaving the pits, but I was surprised Scott was right up there too since his strategy seemed to be so different again.

As a final note, I getting closer to Memto too, only 20 seconds difference in total race time (including pace lap)

That was not a a race i can be proud of. For me it looked promising when I qualified 3rd (1:12.487). But already in the last corner on first race lap I got wide into the grass and Niko easily got past me into turn one. I then begun to pick up som pace until 6th race lap when I braked to late and did get Niko a push. (Sorry, hope you didn't lose to much because of it).

From there it just went out hill, I lost focus and had a damage so I went all over the track. So I just tried to go off track and let the faster cars by. I then never really got into it and just did som really, really bad laps from time to time. But it was still fun to race with you guys as always. :)

it appears that it's common to spin into the pit lane on this track, I got my express pit lane entrance on my last stop, two laps earlyier than planed. With Jonny on first view following me in.(did you see that Jonny?). :)

No worries Play. I was a bit worried at first but I got no damage despite the hard hit and it seems you held up my rivals a bit as well so I mostly just gained time from it.

Quali must have been tight, I was fourth with 1:12.5 something...

That last corner curb was treasonous! And it felt like it only happened when you really got the corner perfectly hooked up and had the optimal line through then corner. Then you hit the curb and swoosh you're in the pits. ^^ I did that soo many times in practise, that made me more aware of it in the race and i managed to catch it every time. But wow the panic that hits you when the car just shoots off like that. :P

Yes, I noticed that, I remember doing that a few times in an LMP race we did around here previously.

Can I please have an incident report via PM from all drivers in room 1, if you have nothing to report please simply write 'clean race'

From the uncountable many (not volunteered) pitstops and a couple of moutain hits there was no serious incidents that included other drivers.

That was a really fun race. I had some really fun battles with the Scooby. Had the better pace on him, but every time we came to a good passing point, one of the lap leaders would come along and take advantage of the spot, get between us, and let him get away for another lap, haha! So I just stopped trying to pass him and instead started being a distraction and it worked! Hang out in the guy's mirrors long enough and he'll make a mistake. The first time was at the double apex left right as the other Vette and Memto are trying to pass. Hairy moment there.

Widfo and I had some fun too. He was at least one lap down, but I needed excitement in my life so I decided to drive defensively anyway. He was a great challenger! Felt like he was driving in my back seat he held on so tenaciously.

I'm glad most everyone else had a great race too. Unfortunately I didn't have the pace everyone else seemed to enjoy. Quali and most laps were in the 1:14s for me even using the same setup as my teammate who pulled off 2nd in his room! Maybe I don't know how to drive Deep Forest as it was obvious in some corners that you guys had much later braking points than I and I didn't have the skills to replicate it. :guilty:

After a race like this where I never get close to the pace of the frontrunners I always wonder what they could have done with my car. Like the thing we saw in practise where memto switched to another car and immediately was down in the 11s with that one as well. Can't help wondering if it would have worked with my car and what needed to be done to actually reach that pace. ^^ It's so hard to improve if you don't know if it's actually possible to reach that goal. :P

In never getting close to the pace I don't mean that I was slow because my quali time was 1:12.5 and I lapped in a decent pace in the race as well.. but there's still that little extra and you just get so curious about what it is I'm missing. :)

Im all about driver development when i run a series, had the pleasure of watching some people develop hugely in the time ive run series ;)

Seeing other people develop is the best thing! And makes the racing better for everyone. It probably gets a lot more fun for you if you don't lap everyone four times in a race. :)

I've developed quite alot since I started racing here, I was trying to be clean, but I always bump people from running behind them, I learnt to be cautious so you don't run into the back of others, also you can trust others to leave you room when your racing which I didn't have before, I've also learnt to pace myself too, don't overdo it, it will end in tears, also to deal with traffic too, I'm probably twice as good as I was before, I also drive better in quali, before my one lap pace wasn't great, but now I'm much faster and a more complete driver, however since I joined GTP my connection has been crap for some reason, I used to disconnect like 3 times a month, now it's as much as 5 a day, but other than that, things have really improved for me.

Also my record has improved too, and I'm now better at calculating races and saving tyre life and fuel which is very important in some circumstances, which I had to do at Madrid to make sure I cleared the 40mins on Mediums, I pitted at the correct time, one more lap and I could have ran out of fuel

So I'm a much stronger driver than I was before, I don't think I'll ever go back to how it was before.
