Isn't the V8 GT like 30-35k?
I think you can option a GT up over $40,000. GT350 seems like a proper bargain.
edit: I fully optioned up a GT on the website and it was actually more than $50,000.

Please please please this is the one feature I miss the most of modern cars. While they are going old school, I wonder if they will put the high beam dimmer on the floor like the older cars
Err... What do those look like? Not familiar with the old school American. While they are going old school, I wonder if they will put the high beam dimmer on the floor like the older cars
It's a little footswitch that you tap with your foot to turn your high beams on and off. My dads truck has one. It's something a lot of car manufacturers used to do and a feature I really miss. Notice it to the far left.Err... What do those look like? Not familiar with the old school American.

GT coupes start at like $31k and the GT Premium is $40k, before options of course. I'd absolutely buy a GT350 for $45k. Isn't that what loaded Challenger R/Ts and Camaro SS' go for?
2016 Shelby GT350 starts at $48,695 and GT350R is $13,500 more or $62,195.
As for the Ford Mustang, the 2015 MSRP (including delivery and destination) are:
Base V6 - $24,425
Ecoboost - $25,995
GT - $32,925
Those are bare bones, manual prices. It is $1,200 more for auto transmission on any of those not including any other options. For example, a premium Ecoboost is just under $30,000 and a premium GT is $36,100.
Good deal for both cars. Ford is definitely going to make its money on that options list, though.
Depends on what you want out of the GT350 though, as it could apply just as well. For instance, according to that spec sheet, a GT350 with the Technology Package & the Track Package (would love to know what this adds without becoming the 350R) comes out to $61,870. The GT350R is $61,370. The GT350R with the Electronics Package comes out to $64,370. This is before you get into the other things, so I wouldn't be surprised if a 350R fully loaded crosses very close to $70K when all's said & done.I wonder how many options there really are for the GT350. But yes, you need to put some pricey options in a GT Premium to make it really nice. Making a GT350 look even sweeter.

This isn't a knock against the car, though; still stupid good value. Just that depending on what exactly that Technology Package offers, I'll be willing to bet 3/4 out 5 GT350s becomes equipped with it.
Just like seeing a light flashing on your dash is too hard to notice, so they put the light on the hood?Because a quick flick of your finger/s is like too much hard work?
To be honest I wouldn't be very happy if I had badly placed one when driving. It'd get very annoying if the high beams switched on every time I leave the left foot off the clutch pedal the times I'm not changing gear when driving at constant speed on any higher speed road. It's a little footswitch that you tap with your foot to turn your high beams on and off. Had a foot actuated high beam switch for a few years now. I've never hit it by accident, it's way too far away from the clutch for that to happen and it takes a deliberate press to actuate, and it's never broken. I think it's a great feature. It sits right next to the foot pedal that swings the windshield wipers once. Another feature that is extremely useful.
On the GT350...
Didn't the Z/28 cost like $70,000?
To be fair, some stalk-operated high beams are pretty annoying. I seem to recall that Peugeots I've driven require you to pull back lightly on the stalk to flash your headlights - which is fine, but apply the tiniest bit more pressure and the high beams stay on. Since the stalk returns to the central position whichever thing you intend to do, you often end up dazzling oncoming cars because you didn't realise that the beams stayed on. It's daft.To be honest I wouldn't be very happy if I had badly placed one when driving. Those things break a lot.
Also, try signalling while pressing the clutch.
Fun times at the traffic lights while releasing the clutch with the gear engaged because you see someone you know!
$72.3k for a Z/28
$61.3k for a GT350R
Do we foresee some Z/28s being discounted in the future? Or is Ford going to mark up the R so high it doesn't even matter.
The 2016 Z/28 will have 150 more horsepower, be 400 pounds heavier and constantly overheat; so Ford should be fine either way.
I have owned older muscle cars and older trucks for over 22 years and have only replaced 1 of these switches. (ALL of those vehicles had the floor dimmer). Only replaced 1 of those in my lifetime. No exaggeration at all. And the switch only cost about $5.00-$10.00 and took maybe 2 minutes to replace. So $5.00-$10.00 out of 22 years is beyond incredibly reliable imo..
