Sporting Regulations

There have been several major changes implemented due to the upcoming Series Expansion, and the imminent introduction of NERDS v1.1;

- Variable number of QP sessions at each Event, dependant on the number of Event Entries verse the number of grid space.

- Reduced QP session durations.

- Addition of 4 hour Races.

- Addition 3 more of Team and Driver championships.

- Removal of the 'GTP Grand Prix' and the 'Road to Stowe'.

- Revised points system. Will be retroactively implemented for D24.

- All teams in all classes can now score a maximum of 250 points over the season.

- Removal of Driver Rosters.

- Team Managers can now field any Series Registered driver.

- Reduction in minimum driving time.

- Increase in the number of cars on track during a QP session.

- Driver changes in the final 60 minutes are now prohibited. This is not particularly realistic, but will help us a great deal in updating the standings for the final hour and help improve the quality of the end of the race broadcast.

- Minimum and maximum number of drivers for each event updated.

- GT500 points weighting updated. (Retroactively applied to D24.)

- LMP3, GT4, TCN-1 points weighting added.

- Clarification that all competitors must be GTPlanet members and that their accounts must be in good standing.

- Increase in the number of events GOLD and PLATINUM driver are permitted to take part in over the course of the season. This is due to the expansion to 24 event this season.

- Lap compensation has been adjusted for Wet conditions.

- Event Regestration has been overhauled with a more rigorous procedure.

Calendar, Schedules, and Grid Limits

There is a lot to take in here, and some things have been amended since Wednesday's Twitter Live Blog;

VLN

- Addition of 4 'VLN' races on the Type-V layout.
- 2 classes at each race.
- 3 for TCN-1
- 2 for GT3
- 2 for GT CUP
- 1 for GT4
- QP has been removed for the N24. Instead the VLN events will be used as QP session as well as races as of unto themselves. Same rules as usual, fastest lap time from 2 drivers count. ROOKIE and BRONZE drivers must take part a least 1 race in the car they are going to run the N24 in.
- At the 2 races that GT3 are running, only the top 5 TCN-1s will qualify. See Appendix A for further details.

4 Hours of Tsukuba

- GT300 replaces GT500 at this event.
- Only 10 cars will start, due to the nature of the track.

Monterey Sports Car Championships

- LM P1 joins LM P3 and GT4 for this event.
- See Appendix A for grid limits

Points Multipliers

These have again be adjusted to accommodate the extra events. The concept of all classes being able to score the same number of points of the course of the season has been abandoned. As a rule of thumb;

- 4 & 6 hours events score 1x points.
- 12 hour events score 2x points.
- 24 hour events score 4x points.

However there are some exceptions taking into account; the importance of the event, the importance of the class in the event, and in the case of Daytona the number of drivers that can take part.

These will be retroactively implemented for rounds 1 & 2. I apologise for the number of changes that have been made in relation to points recently. I don't anticipate there will be any more, I'm happy we have a understandable and fair system now.

Sporting Regulaitons

The following updates have been made to Driver and Grid Limits;

- VLN events are for 2-3 drivers. Previously it was stated that they were for 3-4, this was a mistake.

- The 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps will now feature all LM P1 cars.

- The 6 Hours of Nurburgring will now feature all LM P2 cars, however there will be only 3 LM GTE cars.

- The 24 Hours of Le Mans will now feature 4 cars from each class (LM P1, LM P2, & LM GTE).

Registered Drivers

- A significant number of new drivers have been registered ahead of the debut of LM P3 & GT4 next weekend.

Entry List

- LM P3 team colours added.
- GT4 team colours added.
- GT4 racing numbers and car allocations added.
- The DART GT CUP team has had their racing number changed from #82 to #86.
- The WEIL RACING LIMITED GT CUP team has had their racing number changed from #86 to #84.
- ROOZ RACING has been awarded the #67 GT300 franchise.
- HYPERION has been awarded the #87 GT CUP franchise.
- The #87 car will only be run at events where there is no competition for grid space.

Technical Regulations

- New design.
- LM P3 & GT4 BoP added.

Sporting Regulations

A number of significant updates have been made and are highlighted in yellow;

- A new procedure has has been introduced for Local Driver Changes.

- The concept of 'Hours of Darkness' has been removed.

- Teams may now replace drivers with drivers rated BRONZE or higher. (Was SILVER or higher.)

- Concept of 'waivers' has been removed. All drivers will be permitted to race, however grid penalties will be applied.

- Starting a Driver change in the final hour of a Race no longer results in Non-Classification. Instead an 8 minute penalty will be applied.

- APPENDIX F PENALTY GUIDELINES has been added. Whilst theses are guidelines, not regulations, Race Control will uphold them in the majority of cases. As discussed in last month's Team Manger Meeting, penalties are now stricter, but clearer. Please note that a Team's Warning count will no longer be reset after QP (from Round 7 onwards). Please see Section 3.7 WARNINGS & PENALTIES for more details.
