I'll gladly accept the win as a Jr. fan, but to be honest, I was really hoping that Blaney would win so that the 21 could make a return to victory lane.
Not quite. More like the classic case of people being too afraid of making an early move because they'll get shuffled to the rear. Coupled with teammates running 1-2 and the race was decided well before the white flag flew. With most of the drivers complaining about being loose all day starting halfway through a fuel run, perhaps everybody was afraid of making a sudden move and getting their cars loose? A change to the spoiler should be coming for Daytona if that was the case.
I believe nothing that comes from that website.
I really hope NASCAR doesn't give him a waiver. Not that I don't like Busch but at least keep some remote semblance of logic.
Why? It wasn't Busch's fault that no SAFER Barrier was there in that wall so he shouldn't be punished for that. If anything, not giving him a waiver would make no logical sense at all after giving his brother one.
I agree, no one should miss the opportunity to run in the chase, but to be fair it was a solid lick and who's to say that he wouldn't have sustained those injuries with a safer barrier being there? Injuries with and without the safer barrier have been more of a "luck of the draw" type throughout motor racing history,
Add to that Sadler's wreck from 2010 at Pocono. In NASCAR however, there has not been a single injury that involved a SAFER Barrier. Denny Hamlin's Back and neck issue from the California wreck in 2013: From running into a wall (off a Drainage ditch) with no Safer Barrier. Jeff Gordon's Back issues after his crash at Watkins Glen a few years back: caused by a pile up started by a car that hit a wall with NO safer Barrier. As far as I can remember, all the injuries that have happened have occurred with NO SAFER Barriers so its hardly just random and given the speeds they run on the type of tracks they run, its hardly a surprise.
Michael Mcdowell, safer barrier saved his life.Add to that Sadler's wreck from 2010 at Pocono.
That was an awful wreck. It's probably a good thing that they didn't have a great replay view of it. Just the sight of the dirt being kicked up behind the retaining wall, and then the engine lying on the track afterwards was surreal.Add to that Sadler's wreck from 2010 at Pocono.
