Does everyone have to buy a "sports package" to get Fox Sports? I thought it was just Crapcast. I pay $5.00 extra a month.

As far as I can tell , Fox Sports 2 is in many higher priced channel packages. With Dish (my current provider), its in the "Multi Sport pack".

You know this sucks. I was going to drop the sports package, now most all of the top three NASCAR series have been on Fox Sports 1. Even the Cup series.

Just a couple of years ago, it was only the ARCA and maybe truck races that were on Fox Sports.

Suarez just had an absolute train wreck for a pit stop and a caution comes out right after he completed the stop. Sometimes, you'd rather be lucky than good.

I was able to see the race after all. Turns out I do get FS2 on my cable plan, just no HD which is annoying.

This weekend is something special for you all. The only action among the top three Touring Series is Cup at Sears Point... or Sonoma Raceway these days. So here are a few musings of mine to get you ready for Cup at Sonoma.

As I was learning about NASCAR in 1998 or 1999 or so, I kind of felt bored being introduced to so many ovals. That was the feeling I had when I bought "NASCAR Racing" for my PC way back then. So imagine my surprise when I saw that there were two courses that were... different. One of those was Sears Point, and the other was Watkins Glen. A number of people would laugh at NASCAR drivers trying to do road racing. But really, and as soemone who has always loved GT/Sportscar/Endurance racing, NASCAR actually does a great job of road racing. Just because stock cars weren't meant to go left AND right doesn't mean they are incapable of being great road racing machines. Many people (myself included) think NASCAR should road race more often. Many others believe the Chase for the Cup should have a road course race. Imagine if one of the Chase venues was Road Atlanta, Virginia International Raceway, or maybe even Sebring. Another aspect of NASCAR road racing is the opportunity for established road racing stars (called "wringers" in NASCAR speak) racing for drivers not really good at road racing. So you get to see names like Ron Fellows, (I believe he raced once in Cup) Klaus Ludwig, and other established road racers race for various teams.

If you've never seen stock cars road race, you are in for a treat. You probably heard the sound of stock cars at full speed. Now imagine hearing the roar of those V8 engines hammer through the gears while going down straights or weaving around corners and chicanes. I actually like hearing the sound of these cars go road racing. Maybe not as sweet a sound as Trans-Am cars or Australian V8 Supercars, but it is automotive awesomeness. Only thing better than NASCAR road racing was when the (then) NASCAR Nationwide Series raced at Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve in rainy conditions. It was one of the most unusual, yet entirely gratifying experiences as a racing fan. NASCAR handled racing in the rain quite well. Not perfect, but very enjoyable. So get ready for one interesting weekend of NASCAR racing!

With that said, good luck to all drivers and teams across all levels of NASCAR this weekend.

Hopefully it rains at Sonoma this weekend (they actually desperately need it) so we can see the cup cars race in the rain!

Won't happen. They won't put rain tires on the Cup cars.
A quick google search and a visit to the 2015 rule changes says otherwise:

Where are you seeing this? There's no coverage on TV right now. Let me guess, its on the crap app called "Fox Sports Go"?

Edit: Wow, they have actual coverage on FS1 right now and its not bombarded with Fifa World Cup coverage.

TSN3 is showing qualifying live, I mean it's something right?

And Tony Stewart woke up, temporarily. Ends up P3 at the end of Q1.

A day after California Speedway sees it's smallest attendance for an Indycar race, it is expected that Sonoma will have it's largest crowd in the last 10 years.

All thanks to a moron that thought it was a wonderful to schedule it on the same weekend.

Left. Right. Uphill. Downhill. Chicane. Hairpin. Heaven. Time to road race dem' stock cars.

Good luck to all drivers and teams today. Also, since I heard this will be Larry McReynold's final time calling the action, best wishes to Larry Mac in the future.
