Good thing there's no pressure... I mean, it's not like he'll have big shows to fill.[/QUOTEI must admit, even though I had a feeling that Chase's number would be 24, I'd rather it be 94, 25, or even 9. That way, it gives him some time to develop his own story. But then again, I'm sure Mr. Hendrick wants to keep the number and its history alive. Marketing potential helps too.

lol Joey Logano and his wife look like siblings.

Is it sad that I look at some of the wives that marry NASCAR drivers and instantly assume she's in it for the money?
Nope. I do that a lot with a lot of celebrity spouses- not just with NASCAR wives.

Really, it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case, unless they knew each other before getting to Sprint Cup. Same goes for all professional sports. Money makes everyone more "attractive". I am sure some are just in it for that while others are not.

If I go to any race this year, Homestead is at the top of the list.

What's this I'm hearing about RPM and the #9?
On Wednesday, NASCAR Sprint Cup team owner Richard Petty said he's not "emotionally attached" to #9, which Marcos Ambrose carried at Richard Petty Motorsports and which Sam Hornish Jr. will carry this year. "We inherited that number [when Petty bought the remnants of the Ray Evernham/George Gillette team]," Petty said. "It doesn't mean anything to me, but it does to the sponsors we'd already signed for this year. If the kid wants it next year, though, that's fine with us."
"The kid" he refers to is Chase Elliott. His famous father carried number 9 for most of his career, getting 38 of his 44 victories and his championship with it. "Awesome Bill" carried 17 other numbers during his Sprint Cup career, most notably 11 with Junior Johnson, 21 with the Wood brothers and 94 with the team he created and owned late in his career. Chase Elliott will run five Cup races this year in #25 for Hendrick Motorsports. Don't be surprised if that number is 9 when the 2016 season opens in Daytona Beach.(AutoWeek)(1-29-2015)

I grew up watching and rooting for Bill Elliott. He was my first favorite driver until I got a little older and fell in love with that black #3. I will root for Chase much in the same way I have cheered on Jr - continuing on the legacy of his father. I hope Chase gets the #9 back. That would be pretty sweet. 👍

Chase Elliott is "not looking to fill somebody's shoes" but wants his father's number. At least Dale Jr. did his own thing.

Chase hasn't said anything about car numbers, unless you know something no one else does. Would he like it, probably, but he doesn't seem like a guy who's gonna throw a fit about it.

Whether he takes it or not, I'm surprised RPM hasn't changed the number anyways. 44 is open again, 45 is a black mark in their history, and I don't know about the 40 and 41.

I don't follow Chase Elliott news really I read it as the kid wants the 9 and Petty says he can have it. I don't follow RPM news either so I didn't read the story besides a snippet of what was posted in here.

Completely forgot the 41 is currently being used. As for circlesport, I thought they ran the 33 (which was driven by Landon Cassill).

I figured that Gordon would have interest in different races like Le Mans and the Rolex 24. I don't see him quitting motorsports entirely for at least another half-decade or so.

Spa would be special to him considering his wife is from Belgium?
