This group is definitely more organized. Less chaotic then the first group.

Won't all of those guys have the opportunity to race their way in because of the duals? This just means none of these guys can be 1st or 2nd right?

So far, the general consensus among the drivers seems to be hit and miss with the system. I really think that Kurt has an idea worth considering, though. The four lap solo average would give drivers a good chance to run their best laps and keep the cars out of the packs until the duels.

Group Qualifying. Works well with Mile 1/2s and even better on the Road Course. On the Restrictor plate track, not so much. Basically, we're looking at qualifying races for a Qualfying race. I kinda see their frustraition, it makes no sense.

Edit: @Jahgee1124 getting it now.

Solo would make more sense in the Daytona 500 especially since all the qualifying does is race for positions for the real qualifier- the Duels.

That is incredibly dangerous. I would have penalized those drivers who essentially stopped on the racetrack.

At this rate they might as well let the fans vote for who starts where in the Duels and let the winner of the Duel be the polesitter. That would arguably be less comical than this format.

I hope NASCAR fines some of the cars that slowed down on the track and started blocking. I know they won't though.

Same thing happens in F1 and they throw away their lap times. Do that here. How about NASCAR FORCES the cars to run a full session or else toss out all times?
