Kyle Busch needs to make up 87 points on Cole Whitt in the next 8 races. He cut the gap by 41 points at Kentucky with his win vs Whitt's 37th place finish. It won't take many more weeks like that to get inside the top 30.

I'm hearing they also have lost Brendon Gaughn as well. Had no idea Phil Parsons sold his team but looks like whoever is running it appears to be butting heads with Josh Wise.

It's a shame to hear that the drivers are walking out since (to me) it seems like the crew walking out could potentially be in the near future as well. It would be a shame to see a team that could at least be top 20 capable could get shut down in the future simply because management can't get along with people. I really hope that Josh can get another ride soon because he's not that bad of a driver.

I was initially confused by this as well, but the 62 was run by Premier Motorsports, and the 98 by Premium Motorsports.

Unless there was a typo on the team name for one of them...

Edit:
Nate Ryan@nateryan13s

Interesting Brian France interview with@DGodfatherMoody on@SiriusXMNASCAR. Chief takeaway?#nascar liked Kentucky but wants more drafting.

Brian France needs to go....

There was further clarification on the draft comment he made, but it's still no better...

He wants/hopes the Michgan and Indy aero adjustments will lead to "pack racing" and more drafting.

Which is an awful idea....
Pack racing at Michigan is an absolutely horrible idea with the constant 200+ traps that happen there. It's one thing to have an accident like that occur at Daytona since it's a byproduct of plate racing, but to have that happen at the fastest track that NASCAR goes to is an absolute recipe for disaster.

That was the most exciting NASCAR oval race I've watched since 2007...and they want to have more drafting. Brian France is drinking the Bernie Koolaid obviously.

Wait, Hornaday was still driving?

No, but I remember reading the car was originally meant for a full season. If it was the #30. I know Premium had a third car as well as #62 (is that even full season?) and #98.

Was definitely the best 1.5 mile track race and happened at the track that had been notoriously boring.
yeah I was quite mad at the start of the weekend because I thought it was supposed to be at Atlanta, and then my family saw Kentucky and I said "Kentucky? When was the last time NASCAR came to this place??".

Boy was I suprised. Probably the first time since the end of the 2014 season I watched every series race. They need more of Le Diff though....

Lee Diffy does a fantastic job with Steve and David on the F1 coverage, and a fantastic job with the Indycar coverage with Steve, Paul and Townsend. I would love it if be could do the NASCAR coverage too. He knows what he's saying, gets pumped and just loves racing. Plus that Australian accent is just epic.

If his work load is too much, maybe find somebody a little like a Lee Diffy.

If you love racing in The Granite State (New Hampshire), then you're going to love NASCAR at Loudon this weekend. New Hampshire Motor Speedway is often referred to as "The Magic Mile." I usually call it "The Boring Mile." Either way, this is more or less home turf for Joey Logano. The Xfinity Series and Sprint Cup will take on Loudon this weekend. No Truck action there this weekend- the Truck racers will be in action next Wednesday at Eldora for the Mudsummer Classic.

As a side note, I always thought New Hampshire Motor Speedway was mostly a middle-of-nowhere course. NHMS is actually 80 miles north-northwest of Boston and about an hour-long drive from something I read.

Besides the upcoming action, I was surely impressed with especially the latter half of the race at Kentucky. All congratulations to "Rowdy" on the win.

[UPDATE] Logano, not Lagano. I am still often times not in the loop as I should be.

Middle of nowhere eh? Yeah they should try Vermont. xD  New Hampshire is like New York City compared to us lol.

People from Boston think we exist just for skiing, leaves and maple syrup I swear.

I was taught about the last two from Test Drive Off Road 3.

The New Hampshire races are hit-and-miss to me. Sometimes they're good and others suck in my opinion.

My apologies to "Sliced Bread." I edited my previous post. I mentioned racing at Loudon. Often times, Loudon is a fine showcase for NASCAR Modifieds. I remember first watching NASCAR Modifieds around 2000 or 2001 on TNN (then The Nashville Network, then The National Network, now Spike TV). And then of course, I've seen Modifieds at Loudon commonly on the former Speed Channel. Most of the Modifieds racing I've seen was mostly around Loudon. So I'm sure that series will put on a great show at Loudon as per usual.

So that this post doesn't go to waste, here are all the current driver standings across various levels of NASCAR:

* Cup: Kevin Harvick (692 pts.)
* Xfinity: Chris Buescher (593 pts.)
* Trucks: Matt Crafton (417 pts.)
* Whelen Modified: Doug Coby (251 pts.)
* Whelen Southern Modified: Jason Myers (196 pts.)
* K&N Pro East: William Byron (283 pts.)
* K&N Pro West: Chris Eggleston (274 pts.)
* Canadian Tire: Jason Hathaway (200 pts.)
* Mexico: Irwin Vences (238 pts.)
* Whelen Euro (Elite 1): Vilarino Ander (346 pts.)
* Whelen Euro (Elite 2): Ercoli Gianmarco (337 pts.)

The ones I didn't include were all the Whelen All-American standings. NASCAR is NASCAR regardless of whatever level of competition it is. I am one of the few who thinks of this as the thread for NASCAR not just for the three top series. And let's face it- isn't it always great to recognize the little guys/girls aside from the major series? NASCAR Mexico has some rather interesting courses, especially a lot of their road courses. The NASCAR Whelen Euro Series has a good number of courses I've never seen before. Funny enough, the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series even races on courses like Brands Hatch and the Nürburgring (not the Nordschliefe, mind you). Though sometimes, I do wonder what times a Gen-6 Cup car would do around the Nürburgring 24h course...

Anyhow I posted this post mostly to reflect my typo of "Logano." Enjoy the racing from New Hampshire this weekend.

My God Jay Robinson is such a piece of crap.
I guarantee either the 62 or the 98 will be dead by the end of the summer. Then he'll "Get some investors" and start up a new team over the winter, while discarding the team other team.
This is like the third or fourth team he has killed/killing, no surprise both Gaughan and Wise are getting out while they can.

Jay Robinson is the reason small teams can't get anywhere, because he starts or buys them and then screws them over resulting in their shutdown.

Jay Robinson is the Colin Kolles of NASCAR.

I didn't even know he was doing things he did but now that I think about, he too is making some very career Limiting Moves with teams and drivers.

Marty Smith at ESPN wrote a great tribute to Davey Allison, who passed away 22 years ago this month.

As a kid, my favorite driver was Davey Allison. Had he not been in that helicopter accident, you have to wonder what he might have accomplished with a full Winston Cup career with Robert Yates Racing. His life could have seriously altered the current legacies of guys like Dale Earnhardt Sr, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jarrett, Bobby and Terry Labonte, among others.
