I fear its about to go the way of Wilkesboro at this rate. The fact that not even ARCA has a race scheduled there is rather worrying.

Owners owe the bank 4.5 million. Last I heard the bank owns it now.
At least people cut the grass at Wilkesboro.

Let me prepare my serious (but likely jinxed) predictions;
  • Joey Logano wins most races with 7.
  • Jeff Gordon wins the Daytona 500.
  • Danica Patrick shocks everyone (especially @Carbonox) and wins a race.
  • Sam Hornish, Jr. gets sacked halfway through the season due to lackluster finishes.
  • Roush-Fenway Racing enters a slump and fails to win a single race.
  • Austin Dillon and Kyle Larson will win their first races.
  • The runner-up curse bites Newman. Only a single-digit top 10 finish count.
  • Homestead finale comes down to Logano, Johnson, Edwards, Larson.
  • Larson pulls off an upset championship win.
Final Standings
  1. Kyle Larson
  2. Joey Logano
  3. Carl Edwards
  4. Jimmie Johnson
  5. Kevin Harvick
  6. Jeff Gordon
  7. Brad Keselowski
  8. Denny Hamlin
  9. Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
  10. Kyle Busch
  11. Tony Stewart
  12. Matt Kenseth
  13. Kasey Kahne
  14. Austin Dillon
  15. A.J. Allmendinger
  16. Danica Patrick

Considering we're one race away from the Chase, it's a good thing to take this and take a look how @The Bman predictions have gone so far.

Bold are predictions that happened.
Italic are predictions that might happen.
Underlined are predctions that will not happen.

My almost grim but true 2015 predictions:

-Kyle Larson wins at least 2 races and makes a deep playoff run. 👍
-The new rules package meant to provide more side-by-side racing actually makes the racing worse due to crap tires. :yuck:
-Danica Patrick continues to be a field filler, only posting good runs at the plate tracks. :dopey:

-Brad Keselowski gets wrecked severely by a mystery driver for continued rough driving and is forced to miss several races due to injury. :scared:
-Assuming this points system is still in effect, the final four will be Johnson, Gordon, Earnhardt Jr., and Kenseth with everybody's favorite driver taking the trophy. :sly:
-A Royal Rumble style brawl will take place after one of the Chase races, causing multiple driver and crew suspensions. :p

Bold: already happened
Underlined/bold: still possible
Italics: not possible

Bonus: Extra 2015 Chase predictions-

-Every chase race will be a single-file parade, but still manage to feature a car getting airborne near the finish at Talladega.
-Despite making an amazing run to get into the Chase, Kyle Busch is eliminated early on.
-Jeff Gordon shockingly retires early after a round 1 elimination.
-Danica Patrick, Ricky Stenhouse, and Austin Dillon are involved in wrecks that cost other drivers a shot at the championship.

Exactly. :dopey:

So the possibility of low downforce for lots more races and more roadcourses on the schedule*?

Is NASCAR actually listening to fans?

*I know there probably won't be any additional ones for 2016, but they've said they may add more in the future.

There's also the possibility that Watkins Glen could be the full course after this paving job is done. I don't know why they don't go back to using the full course at Sonoma.

Edit: Racehub just mentioned that Hendrick/Gordon have an announcement coming up. The guy at the shop covering the story is standing with the Rainbow car in the background...

It's not, according to /r/NASCAR
  • Axalta building a "customer experience center" at HMS which will include a training center. Opening in 2017, hundreds of people will be able to train & get OEM certifications on Axalta products.
  • This will be a sister-center to a facility being built & completed in Houston

NASCAR is actually using their collective half-brain? There can be only one explanation:

I have heard from people who are into diecasts that Lionel claims there will be a special paint scheme at Homestead beyond "Thank You, Jeff!"
EDIT:

I never predicted anything (I did predict Kyle Busch to be champion in January, just not on here I believe), but I did post this a few days after Homestead-
Some updates-
-take this as you will but I've heard 2015 will be Gordon's last year.
-BK Racing is probably folding next year. They have been kicked out of their leased shop after Keselowski's truck team bought the property and moved themselves in.
-Both Bowman and Whitt were stiffed on their pay from BK and I doubt they'll be back.
-If Whitt takes the 34 as rumored expect Ragan to do some Cup races for RPM. Officials were high on him before finally choosing Hornish.
-UNOH Battle at the Beach will not be running in 2015 after UNOH pulled out. It was expected the races would be gone by 2016 regardless due to the tearing down of the back stretch.
Also- cannot say much about the Kurt Busch thing other then that Kurt's people knew a couple weeks before the public did, but will say that the bottom of the iceberg is larger and crazier than what's on the surface.
Bold means it happened, underlined means it didn't happen

For some reason it is probably not productive to injure yourself in order to gain an edge.
Brad must be the exception. Remember when he wrecked in a test at Road Atlanta 4 year ago? I vividly remember seeing the pictures of his ankle on twitter. It was amazing he could even drive the car. After the wreck, he finished in the top 3 in the next 4 consecutive races, winning two of them.

Kasey Kahne must have robot legs by this point. I remember there was like a 3-4 year period where he kept getting surgery every off season and seemingly every week off

What I find strange is how Tony Stewart struggled after injuring his leg but Kyle Busch is putting everyone to shame.

Journal Entry #2 9/9/2015

I don't have very long to write tonight. I need to be up nice and early for college classes then the road trip to Richmond.
I will be leaving my place at 11 AM and must be at the track by 5 PM. The roughly 5 hour car driver plus checking into the hotel will be hard on me and the car. I just hope I don't have a problem or anything.
It's going to be super weird doing this. I've mostly only seen these guys on TV- the only real exception is Austin Dillon, who I ran into at the RCR shop a few years ago. Being there at Richmond will be pretty surreal to me, and hopefully the next time I come it won't be that way anymore.

How the hell do you juggle all this?
It's still early in the semester so school is really just sit down and take notes right now.
I just got up to go to the bathroom and I went to check the weather for Richmond. From how the forecast looks, I'm expecting to stay down there come Sunday

I see a new splitter and some new details on the bodywork and it's not squatting on the ground. It looks closer to an actual car and not a silhouette.. even though it still is.
