Journal entry #3
I made it to Richmond without dying somehow, the first 95% of the journey was pleasent but the last 5% was insanity. I lost nearly an hour waiting in traffic while it just kept raining.
Tomorrow I get up very early, 4:45 AM, and probably won't be back at my hotel room until midnight. The only thing I know I'm doing is attending Q&As with guys like Bowyer and Newman. Apperantly the track is having a special thing for Gordon tommorow as well for his final start... Can't wait to see what it is.

Let me take a wild guess here... you went down 95 and got stuck in traffic in Alexandria?
I hit the traffic literally one mile away from my exit off 95 in Richmond. Went the way of 301 for personal reasons, then got back on 95 about 50 miles away from Richmond.
For you fellow video gamers in here apparently EA Sports is doing some presentation tomorrow as well. I doubt it's for a console NASCAR game but fingers crossed for Thunder 2016!

Probably Real Racing 3 related, but a guy can dream

I saw a video recently that EA was producing a game for mobile platforms. Can't remember where I saw it exactly, but that would be my guess. Just tab this as speculation; I'll let you confirm it if this is the actual case.

Wise choice.

Yeah, Thunder 2016 is total speculation on my part. As far as I know the NASCAR license isn't exclusive to anybody, that's why they are in Gran Turismo 6 while EU was still making games.

If there is a new NASCAR game, I hope it doesn't suck. The Thunder games were not too bad, but the last couple NASCAR games were complete garbage. One game I would like to see make a return (either modernized or as a port) is NASCAR Rumble. That game was fun.

Knowing EA now, I'm not seeing that happen.

I guarantee its probably that, seeing as the gen 6 cars were recently added.

If I recall, Eutechnyx is no longer developing them. The latest game is literally just repackaged Nascar 14 assets.

The new dev took over, used the Eutechnyx assets and put out '15. '16 is suppose to be completely new from what I understand.

For tonight's XFINITY Series race at Richmond, Kyle Busch will start P1 and share the front row with Joey Logano. Best of luck to everybody racing at Richmond this weekend.

I turn the TV on and to my shock, it's not the Kyle Logano show, yet.

But to no surprise, a damaged John Wes Townley car.

Journal Entry #4
It has been a long day.
There's so much I want to say right now but I don't have the time to say it. If the race is delayed I may post some more of my experiences.
Let me just say for now that I wouldn't have anybody else win the very first race I've ever covered than Chase Elliott. You can read my 100+ tweets from the day (mostly live tweets) at Ganon_83 on Twitter. Between almost being the second person Tony Stewart killed, to seeing my old favorite driver up close in media center to Kyle Busch, to finally seeing only the 2nd fourth generation driver to make a Cup field, it has been a day.

Anybody else just see that bird right in front of the camera?

This race is flying by right now. Its nice that NBC isn't currently only focusing on the Chase situation but addressing it when needed. It got old hearing that someone needed a position or two when that information was mentioned a lap before. I'm frankly expecting it to be far more Chase oriented later in the race, but still, it is nice to not have to hear it all the time.

I think they were performing like this one year but come Chase time, they were dominant. Could just be not wanting to tip their hand.

Usually that's what Rick does, but there have been times (knock on wood) where they didn't show and then come chase they started running brand new engines that offered better and then they had more blows ups. Same year Junior had the concussion I think. So I hope they don't save too much and it hurt them.

48 team is probably the best at keeping their cards close until it's time to let loose. With the way the system works, they've done exactly what they've needed to do to get themselves into the right place comes next week. I don't think they, or anyone else for that matter, expected Kyle Busch to go on such a hot streak coming off his injury.
