So, Celtic will begin their attempt to get in the CL with a qualifying round tie against Gibraltar's Lincoln Red Imps after they defeated Flora in Q1.

Hopefully this should be very straight-forward. Looking forward to seeing Rodgers' first competitive game and also getting to experience my new seating arrangement for the upcoming season - the standing section. :D

Atmosphere should be unreal.

Lincoln (GIB) 1-0 Celtic

Lincoln take the lead!

Celtic showing 'a lot of character' at the moment. 30 mins to go.

Just Brendan Rodgers things.

A polite reminder that if Rangers don't liquidate, this never happens.

Hilarious! Rodgers gets found out once again. One of the most overrated managers in football imo.

If there isn't a second leg, Rodgers could find himself out of a job before August...

Absolutely crap.

Lord help us in the second leg!

There's a guy I used to work with who coaches for Lincoln. He's a Hibs fan. I think he's enjoying himself at the moment..

My post being the first post in this thread is a sick, sick joke.

We better win at Parkhead. :(

I thought there was already a UCL thread??

Also Celtic! :lol::lol::lol:

A few of those play for Gibraltar, the Cascairo's and J Chipolina I think.

Sorry to all you Celtic fans but that result is quite comical . How Brendan Rodgers didn't get Liverpool relegated is beyond me

Strangely, there's a lot of Celtic fans pretending we didn't get hammered by Artmedia Bratislava 5-0 just a decade ago - which I would argue is right up there, considering we hit the bar twice yesterday and in general just looked disinterested.

Really need a kick up the 🤬 for a lot of these players - hopefully this is it. :)

No Celtic manager in the past 4/5 have won their first competitive European game...tradition just repeats. :)

Losing to Lincoln is more ignominious and embarrassing than losing to Artmedia Bratislava, heavy scoreline or not.

I still fully expect Celtic to turn it around in the second leg but I wonder what Lincoln's odds are for that game?

APOEL beat TNS 3-0 last night to send the Welsh champs packing. Good. It leaves, for one day at least, Connah's Quay as the only team representing Wales in continental competition. :D

Great result in Kazakhstan, 1-1 draw with the game going back to Parkhead all evens.

Here's hoping the stadium is jumping and pushes us to guaranteed European football, in whatever competition that may be.

Should Celtic not be steamrolling a team from Kazakhstan?
Not if Athletico, Galatasary and Benfica can't do it. Furthermore, definitely not on a pitch like that. Plus, we can't all have a team bankrolled by the Government.

Fair enough. I don't recall a Kazakh team ever being in or around the group stages or their national team being much to shout about, that's all. Must be one of those darkhorse teams like Nicosia.

Yeah they only started up 6 years ago.

Decent chunk of cash behind them and an artificial pitch to boot. :scared:
