Running into the car you're attempting to pass tends to get you a penalty.
Pfft. Lewis invited Bottas into a wide open door, then promptly shut it when Bottas was half way through. Lewis's spatial awareness, which is usually second to none, was terrible in that situation.

In car footage tells another story.

It's raining carbon fiber on the track.

What a move from Vandoorne!

Great pass from Vandoorne....commentary on Sky getting that one all wrong

Kyvat from 15th to 3rd. But yet to make a pit stop.

No it doesn't...it shows exactly ehat I said. Ham went wide, focused purely on Ros, and forgot there was 20 other cars behind him. You can't leave the apex open at T1 and not expect someone to poke a nose in.

Like I said, if was clumsy from both, but not worthy of a drivethrough

Lewis had the track position and left room just in case, he didn't just "take it away". He just didn't expect the williams to be that fast of a close in rate at the same time was already wide due to how far up Rosberg he was. He was trying to leave room, not run into the back of his team mate and position his car and Bottas seemed to just realize too late how close they were as the trailing. Probably because he didn't expect to be that fast either.

I can agree with that. Still not drive through worthy in my opinion.

Summed it up perfectly.

Grosjean moves up to 5th. Closing in on Riccairdo.

Never said it should be. At worse maybe five second end of race. But that's about it, normally I'd say no penalty just angered fans on both sides.

In better news, Grosjean also should get a shout out as well. He could end up fourth if this race goes well like it is.

Haas F1 might get a race win with performances like this. Especially if attrition keeps being high during the season.

They'll need Mercedes to have a problem, and I don't see that happening any time soon.

Quite happy to see the pace from the Haas outfit.

second hand Ferrari Powah - Verstappen out powers the Mercedes engined Williams
