Regardless of who's fault the Merc collision was, I think Lewis could turn this into a small win if he just puts his hand up and says "My fault." Steal the moral high ground while he can
Doing that will end up giving him a 10 place grid drop at Monaco

Sainz in 6th. Kvyat in 17, behind a Manor.

Sainz showing exactly why Kvyat was swapped

I love how fans make absolutely instant decisions on incidents. Good job a lot of you aren't stewards!
To be fair, the stewards had two attempts at even getting the cars in the crash correct.

Vettel attempting to undercut Verstappen.

The overhead makes the case for Nico being in the right. He isn't required to leave any space for Lewis because 1. They aren't in the braking zone, and 2. Lewis didn't have any overlap at all when Nico started blocking right. Why Lewis was attempting to cut inside on Nico after Nico started moving right we might never know, but that's all on Lewis if they're to assign blame... but at the very least, it was simply a racing incident, since Lewis was merely a passenger once he got onto that grass.

He can accept responsibility for a racing incedent. Doesn't mean then stewards need to offer a punishment.
Either both get a reprimand or nothing happens.

26 laps and the top 3 still in one shot.

Red Bull - Red Bull - Ferrari - Ferrari

McLaren - Ferrari - McLaren - Ferrari

Let's party like it's 1999!

Can Redbull use a driver to slow down another driver to help that drivers team mate?

Either both get a reprimand or nothing happens.
Exactly. So even if nothing happens, Lewis can still put his hand up to steal the good will / moral high ground. It'll never happen, just saying he could do it

There is no way of knowing 100% what would have happened if the roles were switched. Therefore it is irrelevant to the discussion.

Lewis was never along side Rosberg anyway. The gap he was accelerating into closed. He should have lifted or switch left.

That was my next point. This is Mercedes and this is Hamilton we're talking about. Now importantly, how will Nico handle this conflict this time.

Vettel is now charging through, closing that gap to Verstappen, and Ricciardo.

Well according to Toto from a team perspective, no one is to solely blame.

I'm sure someone will use the if there is a gap line to side with Lewis.

Agreed. Both could have been much smarter drivers there. That was a battle of ego's and no one budged.

Grosjean is going to be pihhhssed with Guttierez there

Gutierrez doing something we haven't seen, just going for it.

Come on, HAAS teammates, we don't need you to pull a Merc.

I am also a Vettel/Ferrari fan,but if there is one race I want to see a blown engine in a red car....

Edit.

Toto states that no one is to blame.

To be honest, that line is often taken out of context, and way too literally.

Over half distance. 2 cars, from different teams, battling hard for the lead, and neither is a Merc.

When's the last time we saw that??
