I agree logistically its unwise to go there, then home, then back again, but I think its pointless having 2 races at the same place inside a month, so just drop the road course, I doubt the road course race makes much profit for any party involved,
It's probably partially why Indycar was in the black last year, since all of the profits go to the speedway, which Indycar owns.

Actually, the Indy GP got more people interested in the Indy 500 time-trials this year than the last 5 or so...

The final oval of the 2015 season is this weekend around the Tricky Triangle known as Pocono Raceway. It should be a pretty good race... just sad to say "final ____ race of the season" when you have a championship that doesn't go into September or later. But as some of us may say- "it is what it is." The title fight will still be plenty intense.

Still in waiting for a race to return to Burke Lakefront Airport. I would be willing to travel 5 hours to see it. Until then, I can still go to St. Pete, Indy, and Mid-Ohio. Debating about going to Road America next year.

There would be no debate if I lived in the U.S,

My issue is that I've never been impressed with Road America with anything. It's a beautiful place, but it hasn't produced anything great. IndyCar has produced some of the best racing you can get in North America, which is making it hard for me to say yes or no.

Id go, just because I hate to say it, but it may not be on the 2017 calendar and may not be used again for another few years, so I wouldn't miss the opportunity

The #83 wrecked hard as the car snapped on him out of Turn 3 while making an adjustment. He's fine, though. The car... not so much.

On a lighter off-topic note, I like Pocono, but I still kind of miss the old Nazareth oval as far as Pennsylvania race courses are concerned. Not that I know of any classic Nazareth races.

I had a feeling after the way he went into turn one something bad was going to happen.

Nazareth was unique, but it was never really gave great racing.

Nazareth really showed who had a car working well all round, who had it working later in the race, and obviously who's could sprint away at the start, if you had issues with tire life you wouldn't win Nazareth, that was my favourite thing about it,

He hit the catchfence:

Look at the fence posts in the corner shot and then how the car shears apart on the main straight angle.

Listen to the shredding sound in the onboard shot.

Three horrifying crashes today (other was in GP2 and GP3 at Spa Francochamps) with all drivers thankfully being ok.

Thankfully it was the rear of the car that got torn up by the fence. It'll be nice when they get that new fence system out to these tracks when the R&D is completed.

From the Mickey mouse sports channel (espn):
What a click bait and misleading title, but it's actually a 50-50 chance.

Hopefully the race gets improved attendance.

Me too. I always thought that track was fun, but later down the line the cars kind of outgrew it/didn't run the right aero package to make the racing decent enough to get the fans to come back.

This weekend at Pocono is going to be crucial towards the championship, but it won't be as critical as the double-points race at Sonoma next weekend. You still want to make sure you get through this weekend with a strong finish.

Why don't they just start penalizing drivers who jump the start... Helio has jumped it twice now...

Wow... he was going way before turn 3 and the start box is coming out of turn 3.

Helio is an idiot. Pagenaud didn't even go that second time.
