Nose cone. Oh dear.

He hit the nose :nervous:

Nosecone...

He got hit on the head by the nose cone.

EDIT: Horrid, but I think he's out of the car, right?

I'm shocked they showed the replay...

Now remember Massa in Hungary. That was a spring. This, is a nosecone. Can't be good.

As hard as Sage's crash was, seeing that was hard to watch.

Good thing is the nose cone is really light as its all Carbon Fibre, but it might of pierced the Helmet, hopefully its an impact hit and he should be alright.

This is bad, but this is something that happens. I think of da Matta and the deer (@Whitetail you're being mentioned), Massa and the spring. This is unfortunate and is a dim side of the series.

They had no idea that happened until they show that angle. They were trying to figure out what happened with Wilson.

There's still nearly 200mph of speed from Wilson's car and however fast that debris was still moving.

The helmet looks in tact from the like angle. But its a bit of distance away.

Or Henry Surtees and the tire (Formula 2 Brands Hatch).

So why are people against closed cockpits again?

Harder to extract a driver also much hotter for one. Also I think this conversation can wait until after the race with all respect.

Right now, Indycar's cockpits mean nothing. Wilsons health does.

Wilson has been removed from the car. Heli is running.

Helicopter...

He's been airlifted

Helicopter sometimes means a severe injury that needs immediate medical attention as quick as possible.

Pretty sure the spring was much more massive, the carbon fiber bends, breaks and is lighter in itself.
Still, he got knocked out for sure and let's hope it's just a minor concussion.

Pocono also sits in the middle of nowhere so ambulance isn't a good idea for any injury. Still, hoping for the best...
Ah, good point.
