The rain will only last 10 15 minutes then clearskies for rest of race.

Wouldn't be surprised if they call this race.

Chopper has landed. Weather too extreme. Very Sydney 2014-esque this has been. More of a reason for V8SC to get a proper wet tyre.

I doubt proper wet tyres would've done a lot.

Loss of power in pit lane is pretty funny, never seen that before.

Time isn't on their side though.

Only took enough crazy crap happening up from for Whincup to get back into the top 15 after a few spins, good on him.

Its only half race distance.

We'd at least would of been able to start the race without the Safety Car. I don't think any series would have been able to race in this. Much worse than Sydney 2014.

Can I just say how great it's been to have Skaife back in commentary. He's so much more interesting than Rust, and him and Crompton have great chemistry.
Well, he did give us one, "Just fire it up the inside!" yesterday.

This has been one crazy race so far...

Pit board floating down pit lane

Race has been suspended. Safety Car and the queue to follow into pitlane.

So about the 140, why wouldn't they wave that considering they barely made it to half way before this long caution?

They'd have to waive the compulsory fuel surely - they expect the race to be full length and run their strategies accordingly... if the race is shortened then at the very least the required fuel fill should be scaled appropriately

Far out its not like this second downpour wasnt anticipated. Everyone down their needs to get their **** together.

Imagine what this would be like at the tailem bend circuit without all the drainage we have here on the streets. Conditions are the worst iv ever seen at a race.

Wow, last time I saw this much water at a race event would have been the 2015 United States Grand Prix on Friday and Saturday.

That hurricane did produce one of last year's best F1 race.
