I lived right on the corner of Fletcher's Bend & Watt St looking out to The beach. It's very tight like Surfer's and bumpy. they would have to cut the pedestrian curb in the middle of the street. The downhill at the Royal Esses, has a refuge walkway as well. More esses at noah's Bend. The view from Noah's restaurant would be crazy. Past the Esplanade and The Foreshore would be sounds bouncing off the hill and view over head for fans. The pitlane is fine. They have car shows there all the time. I just couldn't see it happen but, it would be amazing.

Every year, they completely redo Australia Avenue at the Olympic Precinct for the race, so it's probably not an issue. The real problem is that a large part of the layout is two lanes wide, so it's single file only.

I agree. And short they can't build up enough speed. It'll be more like Monaco's average speed.Probably won't happen.

Penske truck rentals livery for both DJRTP cars this weekend.

They don't have much choice - Erebus are obligated to run two cars.

Yeah. Craig once said about not getting the drive with Erebus last year, "I don't drive for free."
None do. It's usually the sponsor who pays the driver's salary. Not unless you're phenomenally good. Although I get what he means; he doesn't want to have to search for sponsors. The problem is that he's not one of those phenomenally good drivers.

Certainly not. He's the "safe" co-driver.

Barry Ryan is on Inside Supercars. I doubt they'll talk about the Erebus driver line up tonight.

Edit:  They're talking about it now.

The Hungry Jack's livery looks good.

I'm waiting for Guzman y Guzman to be the next sponsorship, to pop up in a team.

The first, last and only time I tried Guzman y Gomez did not end well.

Not big on the Hungry Jack's livery at all.

Probably will look better in the flesh though.

Compare what you see advertised on television with what you actually get when you order at Hungry Jack's. When has anything produced by Hungry Jack's ever looked better in the flesh?

In fact, I seriously doubt that there is anything that could be called flesh in their hamburgers.

Wish I was good at photoshop, interested in seeing how that would look with the new US front end:

I hope that we get the updated Altima down here. I'd much prefer to see that replace the outdated current model in the Supercars Series, as opposed to the GT-R.

If I had to choose between what's coming in the not too distant future as far as four doors are concerned - Ford Fusion, Opel based 'Commodore' & face-lifted Altima (should any of them commit) or the potential players in a two door contest - Mustang, Camaro, GT-R & anyone else tempted, the taxi come rep mobile sedans would be a thing of the past.
Having said that, although there's nothing wrong with a GT-R turbo whistling around the track, having a similar sound eminate from a Camaro or Mustang would be weird to say the least :odd:

I don't want to see the GT-R come over. Enough of them racing around the world in other series, I'd like the Supercars entries to stay unique.

I know this session isn't over yet, but am I seeing things? All 4 Nissan's in the top 10 currently? Pinch me.

Edit: Caruso fastest, Todd up in the mix. Hopefully this is good vibes for the weekend.

All I see is the more consistently faster guys not having set good times yet.

I think Caruso has genuine speed at the moment. Hard to tell with the others.

Friday's practice sessions mean diddly squat really. Everyone's using what rubber they have left & that varies wildly from one end of pitlane to the other.
Lots of tuning & tinkering still to go. Let's see how they look after qualifying.

I don't know, I've seen several references to people using new tires. We'll see though...

No one has yet, but they all have a brand new set of softs to use in this practise that has to be handed back afterwards so we might see who's got some form then.

Edit: Tod Kelly just left pit lane with new ones.

Edit 2: Not many had a real good crack at it so no real indication of who's got pace yet.
