Well, the draw's been made for the Third Round, and @MUSC4EVER has reminded me that this happened, so here's the thread for the season!

Good draw I thought. Liverpool v Everton is of course the stand out game but some other decent looking ties are Palace v Brighton, Forest v Arsenal, Newport v Leeds and Wolves v Swansea.

Ties take place on weekend of the 5-8th of January, BBC and BT Sport have got the joint TV rights again, televised games are still to be decided.

Good news for people who are inexplicably triggered by this sort of thing; Manchester United are not on the telly tonight. Presumably that in-joke among the TV companies has finally gone stale. Well, that and there's a small local game going on in Merseyside tonight. Still, at least Bet365 are coming up trumps on that score.
 
Liverpool/Everton... along with a Chinese take away and a nice bottle of vino... my Friday night sorted (much to my wife's horror :D)
 
Man United-Derby is also on tonight, but it isn't televised as far as I know....
 
Liverpool and Everton finished 2-1 to the reds with Van Dijk getting the winner at the Kop end, great game. Man United eventually broke Derby down with two late goals to progress.

Fleetwood-Leicester is currently 0-0 and not as great game at all!
 
Enjoyed the days Football thus far, watched it on BT Score rather than Soccer Saturday for a change as BT have the joint rights so they had reporters at the matches which Sky cant so it was good, however it was sandwiched by a dull 0-0 between Fleetwood and Leicester (great result for Fleetwood though) and so far a dull 0-0 between Norwich and Chelsea at half time with zero shots on target by either team.

The Fleetwood goalkeeper won a years supply of Pizza from Papa Johns with that clean sheet, no really!

On a side note, what on Earth was actually going on at the City Ground? Forest scored two penalties, the second of which seems to have been scored illegally via a double-touch, and then there was a red card, and this is the first time Wenger's lost in the 3rd Round, and Arsenal haven't conceded 4 to a lower-league team in the FA Cup in... like... a hundred years...

Insane game! I think Arsenal paid for it with that team they put out.
 
So tonight then is the final third round game and its Brighton v Palace on BT, an interesting game which saw some crowd trouble in the league game earlier in the season, Video Assistant Referee will be used tonight to assist the referee and its the first time it will be used in a club game in the UK.

Before that its the fourth round draw, they just had a reheresal for it and the first game drawn was Man United v Liverpool!.

The last time Man United drew a Premier League side in Rounds 3, 4 or 5 was in 14-15 when they lost to Swansea in the 3rd round.

Anyway, home to Watford. Could have been worse. Could have been much easier.
 
Finished 2-1 to Brighton earlier in a pretty good game, slightly controversial winner scored by Glenn Murray in the 87th minute as it looks at first like it came of his arm, ref gave the goal then had a quick chat with his assistant on his headset, he didn't use VAR and it wasn't used all match.

Away to Yeovil is interesting and could be tricky for United, Swansea need to get past Wolves before they face Notts County, which they probably wont...
 
None of these ties leaps out as being particularly interesting. Whoever's picking the TV games has got a job on...

Liverpool - West Brom, perhaps. I guess if Chelsea get through against Norwich, that'd be another Premier League tie. Boro - Brighton is a possible challenge for both, as is Hull - Forest and Huddersfield - Birmingham. Wednesday - Reading, depending on their replays... Bournemouth - West Ham, also replay-dependent...

McDons - Coventry I suppose guarantees at least one team in League One or lower in the fifth round.

Big pot of meh.
 
Both Newport-Spurs and Yeovil-Man United will get picked for TV I guarantee it as its two League Two teams at home to two massive teams and it will get a lot of interest and press coverage. but apart from that there's not a lot there, Cardiff-Mansfield v Man City might get shown, but Cardiff are not arsed about the FA Cup as only 6,000 turned up on Saturday and they had to shut three sides of the stadium.

Its a real shame that no non-league teams have made it this far after what happened last year, first time that no non-league teams have made to the third round since 1967.
 
TV games have been announced for the fourth round, Yeovil v Man United will be on the Friday night on BBC1 (a 10-hour round trip for United fans on a Friday night, I bet they love that!) Saturday games are Peterborough v Fleetwood/Leicester on BT, Newport v Tottenham on BT and Liverpool v West Brom also on BT. Sunday is Norwich/Chelsea v Newcastle on BT again with Cardiff/Mansfield v Man City on BBC.

Bournemouth weren't bothered about the FA Cup last year, Howe made 11 changes for the trip to Millwall and lost 3-0 there as well.
 
Sanchez starts for United away at Yeovil tonight!, live on BBC One from 7.30, Sheffield Wednesday v Reading also on.
 
United just beat Yeovil 0-4, nice routine win, pretty rubbish first half but turned it on in the second. Rashford, Herrera, Lingard and Lukaku with the goals. Sanchez got an assist and generally played really well, he got some brutal treatment from Yeovil players though!
 
Shocks yesterday were Wigan knocking out West Ham, West Brom knocking out Liverpool, Newport taking Spurs to a replay, Birmingham taking Huddersfield to a replay and Notts County taking Swansea to a replay.

Chelsea currently 2-0 v Newcastle and cruising, Cardiff v Man City is the other game today.
