At, arguably some of the very best tracks in the world...I'm in my happy place.

Both cars are having their engines changed.

What are the penalties for engine changes in IMSA? Start at the back of the entire field, back of the Prototype, or no penalty?

Start at the back of the class.

My picks for who I want to win:
P: #6 Acura (Go Montoya!)
GTLM: Either Corvette
GTD: #86 Acura (Go Legge!)

This I should gonna be one hell of a race!

So, since the PC class is no more, what would be a viable option for a drinking game?

Or is this the break year where everyone's liver is allowed to recover from previous seasons?

Hmm, there's the Le Mans staple of Ferrari-based crashes aka Ferrari's gone wild. Or we could count Acura's losing their hoods. Or BOP mentions, although that one could get sketchy. :D

How about one drink for every time a prototype retires from the race?

A sip for every time a car pits
A gulp for every time a car has unscheduled pit (a sip every 5 minutes car is in pits)
Finish your drink if a car crashes/goes off/caution/yellow flag

I'll miss the PC shenanigans, but I like this grid a lot more.

My hopes:

DPi: Either Penske or JDC-Miller
GTLM: Corvette
GTD: Wright Motorsports

Come on, there's an easy way to play, sleepy pit crew on screen! Also add drivers saying they're going to sleep for a few hours.

I’ve seen in this thread that IMSA.tv is the place to watch, but that website seems like an early Web 2.0 site, the app has some racing but audio only?

I’m from the U.K. and have only watched this race via replays on YouTube, will IMSA.tv actually update when the race starts (which I think is 8pm uk time)?

On my way up to Daytona :D
Have a great time!! Get some free t-shirts and Conti hat. 👍

Kind of sounds like IMSA radio with audio only.
IMSA.com will likely have on-board cameras, not sure if that includes outside the USA.
Otherwise, like me, it's the FOX Sports GO app.

You can try his too!

Then die before the end of the race (of alcohol poisoning).

Or drink low % stuff like wheat or white session beers .I can have a bunch of those throughout the day mixed with food and not get trashed

If you're outside the US, there's the stream on IMSA's website

https://imsatv.imsa.com/

It's live with Ferrari Challenge right now. Refresh the page closer to race time, and it should be there for you.

Once the race starts PM me if you want another way to watch IMSA feed while in US.

I am so pumped for this race and the start of the season! The addition of Penske to the prototype field is impressive, as is its growth in numbers. The times look close, and I think the competition will be great.

GTLM always offers good racing, but I'm not sure why BMW keeps changing things. They ran the M6 for what, 2 years, and now that it's sorted they switch to the M8. Marketing I suppose. Once they get up to speed I'm sure they will do fine but this race will likely be a grand test session due to new-car bugs.

NO PC! That right there made my year. :D

GTD is looking good, too. I love that they went to a (basically) GT3 spec a few years back - it's led to good variety and close racing. That was a great decision. I would love to see a Corvette C7 GT3 but can't have everything. Magnus returning is awesome though.

My picks/rooting will be for:

Prototype: #10 Wayne Taylor Racing, #99 Red Dragon (sentimental favorite)
GTLM: #3/4 Corvette 1st, #911/912 Porsche 2nd
GTD: #58 Wright Motorsports/ #44 Magnus Racing/ #96 Turner Motorsport

It's gonna be fun! :cheers::cheers:

Eurosport 2 uk are showing the first hour and the last hour live. Presumably the whole race is live on Eurosport player.

Just watch it on imsa.tv. It's all live on there.

Give it a year or two, GM gave it the go-ahead. Callaway just has to get the cars out now.

Has anyone found a high res version of the big field layout in pit lane? I'd love that for my phone like last year.
