For TCR, I was expecting an Alfa(or was it Mini?) in the field. Have many teams sat out this weekend, in preparation for the rest of the season?

Possible. Looks like some of them have replaced an ST with a GT4 (like Bimmerworld, Murillo). All of the Mazdas are gone, the Mini TCR I don't think is ready, and I don't know what there isn't an Alfa. I would hope for more entries to join throughout the year.
 
I believe the plan was to replace or relegate ST cars, and replace them with TCR? Either way I do think we'll see more TCR at some point - I don't know how many are going to PWC's TCR class either.

An oldie but still a goodie. Night practice from 2014 with Tommy Milner for those that haven't seen this, pretty cool view. The wait is killing me. At least this year it looks like I won't be freezing my ass off at night, as of right now its predicted a low of around 60*F which is odd because its been unusually cold this winter in FL, and in past years its been pretty cold there at night. The rain chances for Sunday keep pushing back further as well 👍

There has been an updated version 2 that changed the #20 BAR1 car from blue to gray, the fin color on the #77 Mazda DPi, and different graphics/liveries on the #62 GTLM Ferrari and #51 GTD Ferrari. I hope one of the Mazda's will wear that sweet gun metal grey they had last year... I really liked it.

I personally am sick of the whole throwback thing so I’m happy they aren’t going that route.
 
I'm 184% okay with throwback if it beats the absolutely awful current "nothing" schemes.

I also noticed in some of the promo pictures that GTLM cars had clear/white headlights instead of the normal yellow. From reading it looks like going forward P and GTLM cars will have clear headlights and only GTD will have yellow.

Anybody know how to watch Daytona 24 in the uk ? No tv channels are picking it up, thought maybe sky sports F1 would have considering Alonso is racing. I cant see any official streaming packages anywhere !

Imsa.tv should have it for free for people outside of the US.
 
Here is the rain forecast as of right now for Sunday, could be a wet finish and strategy could come into play. Weather forecasts change quickly here and aren't always accurate so it could be different closer to the weekend.

A NSX bonnet jumped the fence.
 
The IMSA.tv site works from my phone but not the PS4 browser app. Full screen would be nice
 
Is IMSA TV low resolution for anyone else? It's like watching an old VHS recording.
 
Nah, I got it connected with Chromecast from phone to TV and it looks great.
 
GTLM looks like it will be a slugfest.
